"Great sound quality", "balanced frequency", and "comfortable listening" are all common words I use to describe a quality set of headphones - "beautiful" typically isn't one of them. However, there's been a growing trend of audio products where audiophile expectations are met by an aesthete's eye. From headphones crafted out of wood to leather encased ones, here are five very attractive, high performing headphones.
Frends Layla Headphones: Frends has a line of headphones created specifically for women, and boy are they good looking. The headphones come in a couple different models called Taylor, Layla and Ella. Taylors are for people who want to make a statement. Made with white leather and your choice of either gold or rose gold metal, the Taylors are gorgeous headphones with all the functionality you would want from a high quality set. The ear cushions are made with memory foam and there's a three-button mic with volume, music and phone control. Layla is a smaller version of the Taylor and Ella is the earphone version.
Meze: The Meze collection has four different models. Because each one is crafted with a satin wood finish, no two headphones are exactly alike. The Meze 55 starts at $139 and goes up to the Meze 88 priced at $309. The wood cups provide a natural, balanced tone and the padded headband allows for hours of listening in comfort.
Natural Grassroots Headphones: These headphones are part of an eco-friendly line from iwave. They are made with recycled materials but still deliver great sound quality with 20-20 (Hz-KHz) frequency range. I like the combination of the headphones' retro style combined with a sustainable design.
Monster Diamond Tears Headphones: I recently saw these in person at the Apple store. Diamonds are not my favorite, but I had to admit that these are flashy but pretty. The Diamond Tears headphones are definitely suited for a certain type of style but it combines bling with the high quality technology of Monster headphones.
Pleat by Molami: Here's a set of headphones that are not only attractive themselves but were designed to make the listener look good as well. The shape of the headphones was designed to complement the bone structure of your face. The closed design allows for a solitary listening experience with a deep bass and natural mids and highs, making them a good set to listen to any type of music. It comes in either black or white leather with gold accents.
