While you are reading this post, we'll be returning from a week blogging from Santa Cruz, CA territory (a four-beds-in-one-week, family wedding extravaganza). It has been a while since shuffling around quite this much, lugging stuff, and switching beds. But back in the day we loved going from friend's place to hostel to mediocre hotel to another friend's place; city to city, country to country. But now...
We've definitely gotten more in the groove the past few years of: one trip, one place to set up a temporary home away from home. At least most of the time.
Either way you do it, it's fun to see how little you can often get away with hauling - and good to remember it's not as crucial to have consistent sleeping arrangements as it is to have someplace to lay your head (clean, comfortable, quiet, we hope!).
Getting back home will feel so good after 10 days. Although we loathe unpacking, we love everything else about coming home to our Chicago apartment.
As for you all (and to steal Janel's words from last week's welcome post):
We'd love to hear from you this month - holiday time is also the time for taking a few more photos than usual, so we know you have snapped a few great ones in your time. Show us how your mom set the table on your first night home, the gorgeous furniture in the lobby of the swanky hotel bar you had a drink in, the cozy living room of the cottage you rented for a week, the shots you snuck in the amazing antique store off the beaten track...share the wealth and send them in to chicago (at) apartmenttherapy (dot) com.
