Whether you're looking to add to your art collection, need some color inspiration or are just looking for a fun place to view art, we've got a couple of ideas...

Austin Art Garage, an affordable local art gallery, has been covered before on Apartment Therapy, as well as some of the more popular galleries around town. Today we bring you a couple of Austin's lesser known galleries, like the Art Palace, a gallery working tirelessly to expose emerging contemporary artists and foster collaboration with artists of all media. Housed in a modern, no-nonsense space on the East Side, you can explore the gallery's current exhibit of artist Sterling Allen. Known for throwing fun and engaging opening receptions, the Art Palace is worth a trip during an event or if you're looking to expand your modern art collection.

Okay Mountain is another great gallery in East Austin also specializing in emerging artists with a healthy twist of experimental art, too. Recently voted "Best Art Gallery" of 2009 by the Austin Chronicle, Okay Mountain also exhibits together as an art group helping to show off Austin's creative skills around the country. Okay Mountain, along with Art Palace, both balance a mix of local and non-local talent, bringing you a wide array of choices.

Live in Austin and have visited either art gallery? Tell us what you think!
