Over the past two plus years I have been working on my kitchen. It is the most expensive room to remodel in the house, so I've been doing it piece by piece which is slighting difficult for the impatient (that would be me) but also very satisfying to transform the space exactly how I want it, as I can afford it. What I find to be utmost gratifying is to look at the photos of the process. I am not there yet, but I have certainly come a long way!

I love outdoor spaces filled with overgrown blooms, piles of mismatched pots, bits and bobs of weathered sculpture, and richly textured blankets of moss. Though moss could be associated with the words 'dilapidated' or 'swampy', it is actually a very healthy vegetation in that it has no known pests or diseases. It's also extremely forgiving and requires little to no maintenance. It's soft on your feet if used as a ground cover, stays green throughout colder months, and is really easy to propagate.

Beige is one of those colors I try to avoid. I am naturally drawn to color, lots and lots of color. After taking what I considered to be a huge risk, hanging beige colored drapes in my purpley pink bedroom, I just might be a convert.

As the days get longer and the weather gets warmer, there are a few things that come to mind that aren't normally addressed in discussions surrounding spring cleaning, but will make a big difference in how refreshed your home looks and feels. Here are a few very easy, often overlooked ideas to kick off spring cleaning in your house in no time at all.

Homasote is awesome for so many reasons — it's green, it's inexpensive, it's sold in large sheets and can be easily trimmed to fit any space, it can be painted or covered with fabric, and, as I've recently discovered, it has lasting power.

I rebuilt this closet a couple of years ago with Elfa shelving, hardwood floors, new trim and better lighting. Last month I finally got inspired (and motivated!) to finish this project and make it into the cozy and very girly dressing room I had always imagined.

The ideal plants for window boxes are colorful, can withstand hot sun or part shade and don't have finicky watering requirements. Here are ten that fit those criteria.

Last week I wrote about how to make your own quilting hoop jewelry storage. So that all bases are covered, today I am sharing another DIY jewelry storage idea perfect for hoop earrings, sunglasses, rings, and bracelets: a vertical jewelry box that you can mount on the wall.

Search Google for crafty DIY jewelry storage and you are likely to see tons of hollowed out frames over mesh screens. While re-inventing my closet, I thought to myself, there has got to be another way. The screen-in-frame thing is nice, but it is overdone.

You may remember Jenn Ski's Not So Unhappy Hipster Home tour from a couple of years ago. Included in that tour were two photos of her freshly painted home studio. Fast forward to the present and she has completed her vision for the space, which includes a lot more than just fresh paint!
