While I would give my left arm to have a private backyard, for now a plot of land where I can grow succulents will do just fine. If you recall, all I had before was a stoop--so I've definitely graduated (not to mention, there isn't a lot of upkeep).

From my own experience, moving in with your significant other can be tricky, especially if your decorating tastes are not aligned (we're polar opposites). But what I absolutely loved about Scott and Jessica's home is how they seamlessly managed to display one another's interests through the decor. And although the couple is still in their newlywed phase, their deep, mutual respect is reflected throughout their inspiring home.
Ever had an awkward space or nook in your home that never felt quite right? And then one day, an a-ha moment comes along with all of the answers laid out for you. Arriving at Al TeMan's house on the day of our Apartment Therapy shoot can only be described as extraordinary. While, yes, Al's house is ginormous in size, it also bursts with a passion for life that most folks work a lifetime to achieve. Al is a charismatic individual himself and was more than happy to show me around (while giving me a history lesson as we walked the property).
Ann and Dan keep busy schedules (Ann's a producer, Dan's a musician) so when it came time to renovate and revamp their 1920's Silver Lake kitchen, they called in the help of a pro. Eco Natalie (aka Natalie Freidberg) guided the pair to a clean and modern new kitchen — and it's environmentally friendly, to boot.
In the past, I've used friends to help me move and I remember it being pleasurable experience (if you take out the fact that we had to haul a bunch of heavy stuff). On the other hand I've also helped friends move — and it was chaotic to say the least. So I've rounded up my favorite tips for when friends pitch in and help with a move — weigh in with your own, after the jump!
