Grey continues to be a hot in the nursery. We spotted this grey nursery in combination with soft pink - a throwback to the 80s but also fresh and modern.

We love to organize children's books using front-facing shelves. It makes for easy recognition for kids, plus the book covers become a design element themselves. But there is one drawback to this method.

This creative use of space is one of the most impressive we've seen in a long time. Samantha of Tuffet Whimsy saw potential in the unused space under the stairs to the basement. She turned what would otherwise be wasted space into a most precious play area for her kids.

We just got rid of our last baby gate. Ours were the standard white metal gates that did their job well, but weren't visually appealing in the least. Hopefully, you followed our previous post about making a set of personalized dishes and are right now sipping tea from a mug your child painted. If dishes are too big of a commitment for you, how about a stack of painted cloth napkins?

2012-02-05-pulley.jpgSome of the most creative design ideas we've seen probably have come from kids - an indoor slide next to (or lieu of) the stairs or a treehouse built indoors. Here's another you'll want to implement in your own house.

When picking a paint color, have you ever looked at the paint chip and drooled over the entire range of colors? It's not so much one color that catches your eye, but all the shades of a color together. Who says you have to pick just one?
