Everyone's favorite hipster app is actually a great way to document your home. Last month when I moved into a new space I began taking vignette photographs of my in-progress apartment.

I'm kicking myself for not purchasing these stools when I bought my recent counter height dining table. Every great interior design resource is filled to the brim with these stools right now. The best part? They're cheap!

This beautiful Scandinavian space is perfectly styled from each plant down to the bedroom textiles. The owner's sense of style really shows throughout each of this home's gorgeous rooms. However, when guests arrive in the dining room I am sure they stop dead in their tracks (no pun intended) as a giant trophy from the owner's recent hunting voyage looms above.

I have the pleasure of living across the street from the gorgeous coffee shop seen above. The decor is inviting and the designer chairs hug my body as I work. I particularly love this coffee shop because they decorate in the same style as my own home! This is perfect for the home-away-from-home vibe most coffee shops desire.

I really wanted to add some color to my new apartment without painting an entire room. My space had some pretty ugly door thresholds, why not revamp them with a bright color? A quick cure for the common boring room.

Conserving space is so important in a one bedroom apartment. It was hard for us to muster the thought of wasting an entire dining room with a table we would rarely eat at. Thank goodness we thought of a multipurpose solution!

LandlordRelationship_092211.jpg

It's amazing how horrible I am at dealing with landlords. My passive aggressive personality and non-confrontational demeanor usually keep my apartment problems from getting solved. However, over the years I have found some tips that work well for getting the most out of the landlord-tenant relationship.

Interior designer Chris Nguyen is the guy behind last year's Small Cool Contest winner and the genius Analog Dialog! As it turns out, he's a fantastic designer in all forms. Although his interior design portfolio is small, each of the spaces he has designed is breathtaking.

Radiator_091511_01.jpg

Earlier this month I moved into my first radiator-heated apartment. The 100+ year old apartment has some interesting qualities… including old paint chipped radiators. Bumps in the road like these less-than-perfect radiators are certainly a design challenge.

It's no secret that Scandinavian design is popular in the United States. These days it seems like everyone is trying to get their hands on a Danish Modern credenza or a teak desk. I have seen hundreds of inspiration blogs for Scandinavian interiors lately, but I wonder, could I really pull off the Scandinavian all-white interior?
