080510_blankwall01.JPGMoving into a new home is exciting, but also overwhelming. That fresh blank canvas is all yours and it's intimidating. How do you even start filling in spaces and personalizing it to perfection?

080310_movingbox01.jpgMoving is considered one of life's major stress inducing events, along with divorce and a death in the family. We just moved and are still in the recovery stages, swearing to ourselves that we will never do this again. Even though we didn't do everything the easy way, we did one thing right.

Austin is not only a place, but a way of describing the crazy combination of hipsters, hippies, cowboys and intellectuals that live here. If you've never been to the capital of Texas, then come for the live music but stay for the laid-back attitude.

Even without a coastal view or a sea breeze, you can still have beach house style anywhere anytime. Borrow a few ideas from these inspiration photos and incorporate a nautical influence in your home. Just don't go overboard.

We appreciate instant gratification, so a project that takes an afternoon or less is a winner in our book. With one free hour, a cheap cork board and a scrap of canvas, we whipped up this tack board to show off our yummy new push pins and inspiration items.

It's no secret that Texas has a big personality and a great deal of variety. From the west to the east, you'll find mountains to beaches with hills and plains between, but there is nothing plain about these two Texas retro motels.

The Gulf Coast is all over the news these days, but it's rarely linked with design and decor. Today we’re bringing you news from the Texas Gulf Coast of a lighter, fresher sort. On a recent trip to Port Aransas, we unexpectedly discovered a beautiful custom-built (and eco-friendly) vacation home open for tours at Cinnamon Shore.

071510_frenchshop02.jpgFor many travelers, visiting new places is not only about the people, culture and historical sights; it's about the souvenirs they bring home to remind them of their experiences. For some people, the experience is the shopping and the travel just gets them there.

071310_grandbazaar.jpgThinking about traveling and shopping and decorating, we started to wonder: where would we most like to spend a day immersed in shopping bliss?

Dreaming of a retreat from the heat and an escape from the hustle bustle of city life? Forget the beach or the mountains and get thee to a castle.
