•"Sycamore" linocut ($45) by artist/biologist KShanks, who gets "very grumpy" when she's not making art. "Winter Goldfinch" is equally striking.

• Petting Zoo tags ($7) by Chicago design team PearlMarmalade would look great framed, grouped, and hung in a child's room.

•Break free from the tyranny of the wedding-gift registry and get this cantilevered wine holder ($34) by Prince Street Woodcrafters instead.

We're improving on this post. These Six Crate and Barrel Madison chairs look like they're in top condition and ready to go for the discount of roughly half price. If you have a hankering for the sturdy C&B style in a nice espresso finish, this will solve your seating problem in a jiffy.

•Automoblox C9 sports car. This building-block-cum-car is crafted of German wood, and its parts can be mixed and matched with other models.

•Bertoia wire child's chair. I would drape a flokati rug over this chair for comfort.

•Kay Bojesen wooden horse. Bojesen was a silversmith who designed iconic children's cutlery and sturdy, whimsical wooden animals.

•"Transplant" ($20) by self-taught artist Mark Brown, whose figures bear some similarity to the puppets of Red Nose Studio. Snap up a print before a gallery gets hold of Brown and raises his prices.

•Embroidered "Lovebird" ($14) on cotton fabric by BigSkyStarlet. "Light as a Feather" and "Pump d'Or," too, combine handmade charm and sophistication.

•"Vixen" plate ($20) by Trixiedelicious. Ask her to do a set of "deadly sins" plates: lust, avarice, vice, and sloth, for example.

•Mechanical B***s*** ($20) poster by Limescreen. Several other designs, including "Splitting Headache," would make great wall hangings, so inquire.

•Thomas Paul faux-bois melamine plates, as seen at It's (K)not Wood. These are a cinch to hang and won’t break if they fall. At $22, there are no bidders.

•Black faux bamboo table. Versatile – and on wheels!

•French pedestal coffee jar. Chic.

•Fornasetti pillow. If you're going to spend $95 on a pillow, you might as well get something that's highly collectible.

I combed through back issues of Domino, wondering whether I could find items similar to those that have appeared in its pages. As usual, eBay yielded a bonanza...

• O Series turquoise lounge table - reserve set around $750.

•Vintage apothecary jar - I like the slightly wavy glass. The magazine shows one of these holding TP, but I'd put turquoise and green soap cubes in it instead.

•Feather wreath – ask if the feathers are real before bidding. Domino showed a purple one, but I like this natural version.

•Vintage pastis bottles - start a collection!
