This week's favorites: jigsaw puzzle soap, nostalgic air-mail postcards, an octopus-theme to-do pad, and nifty van-shaped gift boxes.

ed.jpg

"Edgar's Tears" print ($13) by Portland artist Amelia. I'm also a fan of her portrait "Rainy Day."

sycamore.jpg
"Sycamore" linocut ($45) by artist/biologist KShanks, who gets "very grumpy" when she's not making art. "Winter Goldfinch" is equally striking.

animalcards.jpg

Petting Zoo tags ($7) by Chicago design team PearlMarmalade would look great framed, grouped, and hung in a child's room.

cantileverwineholder.jpg

•Break free from the tyranny of the wedding-gift registry and get this cantilevered wine holder ($34) by Prince Street Woodcrafters instead.

madisonchair.jpgWe're improving on this post. These Six Crate and Barrel Madison chairs look like they're in top condition and ready to go for the discount of roughly half price. If you have a hankering for the sturdy C&B style in a nice espresso finish, this will solve your seating problem in a jiffy.

classifieds2.jpgApartment Therapy Furniture Classifieds are open for your business in the NAV BAR. Post a particularly good thing, and we'll post you here on the front page...

Thanks, Craig!

birdnerd.jpg

Egyptian-inspired bird print ($5) by Birdnerd, whose name says it all.

thejungle.jpg

"The Jungle” illustration ($19.99) by Annie Wilkinson, an ice hockey-playing designer and illustrator.

ossobucco.jpg

"On the Contrary" print ($20) by Ossobuco, who lives by the unforgiving motto "Art or die."

treepillow2.jpg

Darkest Tree pillow ($14) by Supastarr, whose skull pillow has punkish charm.

biube.jpg

Eight-gallon Biorb desktop aquarium for $99.99, including shipping. This is one of the more attractive fish tanks I've seen, with an unobtrusive filtration system, halogen lights instead of sickly fluorescents, and a pipe hidden in plain sight.

palazzo.jpg

Palladian litter box cover ($29.95) is made of high-gloss, laminated display board.

litterbox.jpg

Kitty a Go-Go litter box ($105) in polka dots, metallic silver, or leopard.

rollerpetcarrier.jpg

Rolling pet carrier. At $149.95, this also functions as a backpack and car seat.

mochasofa.jpg

Cafe au lait sofa with cherry frame for $400.

Thanks, Craig!

automoblox.jpg

Automoblox C9 sports car. This building-block-cum-car is crafted of German wood, and its parts can be mixed and matched with other models.

bertoia.jpg

Bertoia wire child's chair. I would drape a flokati rug over this chair for comfort.

kaybojesen.jpg

Kay Bojesen wooden horse. Bojesen was a silversmith who designed iconic children's cutlery and sturdy, whimsical wooden animals.

transplant.jpg

"Transplant" ($20) by self-taught artist Mark Brown, whose figures bear some similarity to the puppets of Red Nose Studio. Snap up a print before a gallery gets hold of Brown and raises his prices.

lovebird.jpg

Embroidered "Lovebird" ($14) on cotton fabric by BigSkyStarlet. "Light as a Feather" and "Pump d'Or," too, combine handmade charm and sophistication.

vixen.jpg

"Vixen" plate ($20) by Trixiedelicious. Ask her to do a set of "deadly sins" plates: lust, avarice, vice, and sloth, for example.

mechanicalbs.jpg

Mechanical B***s*** ($20) poster by Limescreen. Several other designs, including "Splitting Headache," would make great wall hangings, so inquire.

My quest to find highly covetable items that have appeared in Domino continues...

thomaspaulplates.jpg

Thomas Paul faux-bois melamine plates, as seen at It's (K)not Wood. These are a cinch to hang and won’t break if they fall. At $22, there are no bidders.

hollywoodregencytable.jpg

Black faux bamboo table. Versatile – and on wheels!

cafecanister.jpg

French pedestal coffee jar. Chic.

fornasettipillow.jpg

Fornasetti pillow. If you're going to spend $95 on a pillow, you might as well get something that's highly collectible.

This is for Gregory and Em's Candyland of a bathroom; these would dress up a fridge; this is perfect for travel; and this is just for fun.

motherearth.jpg

Earth Queen ($20) photograph by Phoot.

erasoul.jpg

"Patterns" drawing ($65) by Erasoul.

orchid.jpg

Green fuschia-tipped orchid ($9) cultivated by Norma of Katy, Texas. Her prices are rock-bottom.

diffuser.jpg

Reed diffuser ($15) by Modern Atelier, in your choice of 100 scents, some modeled on Jo Malone and Comptoir Sud Pacifique. These are rarely available at such a low price.

I combed through back issues of Domino, wondering whether I could find items similar to those that have appeared in its pages. As usual, eBay yielded a bonanza...

coffeetable.JPG

O Series turquoise lounge table - reserve set around $750.

apothecaryjar.jpg

Vintage apothecary jar - I like the slightly wavy glass. The magazine shows one of these holding TP, but I'd put turquoise and green soap cubes in it instead.

featherwreath.jpg

Feather wreath – ask if the feathers are real before bidding. Domino showed a purple one, but I like this natural version.

pastisbottles.jpg

Vintage pastis bottles - start a collection!
