Kids deserve the summer off, but you could always sneak in some education with these sleekly designed animal flashcards and book by Bob's Your Uncle (of Dinosaur Soup fame). The less-is-more philosophy is at work with the clean design by Mark Fisher and the book and cards include an interesting fact about each animal. (Did you know rabbits can see behind them without even turning their heads? Now I do!)
Bob's Your Uncle is a small Boston-based business begun by Brits Martin and Michelle Yeeles. We were curious about the name - they explain on their website: "Bob's your uncle" is a British expression used to indicate that a given task is very simple. Wikipedia offers this description: It is often used immediately following a set of simple instructions and carries roughly the same meaning as the phrase "and there you have it"; for example, "Simply put a piece of ham between two slices of bread, and Bob's your uncle." So, if nothing else you've learned a fun new phrase to use!
