Name: Baby Balmeo-Sturgill (due 12/14)
Location: Santa Clara, CA

Color Inspiration: The first piece to go into the room was the hand-made felt dala horse mobile, which was inspired by an artist on Etsy. After three generations of women in my family helped me to make our version of it, I loved all of the colors together, so rather than shopping for items that matched, I picked up anything that I liked in those saturated gem tones. In the end, the soft gray on the wall balanced out the variety of colors going on in the room.

Tip for Using Color: Avoid the temptation to buy in sets. By buying things you love, you'll find that they just kind of work in the room without having to try too hard. And not adhering to a strict color theme gives you the freedom to bring in unexpected elements and change the room over time.

Colors Used: Teal, deep purple, orange, red, chartreuse, bright yellow. The walls are soft gray.

Thanks for your colorful entry Michelle and good luck!
