Ok, there's nothing sweeter than a swaddled baby staring up at you. But creating that perfect package doesn't always come naturally to every mom.
Baby-gami is a perfect accompaniment to that beautiful blanket you're giving her at the shower.
Combining origami and swaddling, the pictures in this book are a long way from Anne Geddes' photos. The book is divided up into sections focusing on swaddling an infant, creating slings for older children, and finally, when you get bored with that stuff- you can try some of the specialty swaddles/slings including the Picnic Wrap, Glamour Sling, or Gift Wrap.
Anyone want to share their own struggles/triumphs with the swaddle?
What a great idea! I know that I would have trouble, and would worry if I did it right and if it would hold the baby. I can now just turn to the book. That's great!
I have a swaddling blankie, that is already swaddled LOL bit hard to explain, but basicly it has some velcro and stuff, making swaddling very easy
But these blankies look very cute !!!!
Mine is just plain white
I received this book as a gift a bit past the swaddling phase, but my 16 mo old loves to look at the pictures and point to all the babies. Great entertainment.
My wife found this book before our son was born. It really helped. We had received a swaddling blanket as a gift but we became so good with the blanket (this books has great tips and illustrations) that we eschewed the specialized blanket from them on.
ha- my husband (Jim) has beaten me to the comments area again. We love this book. Slightly stretchy blankets seem to work best for a tight swaddle. We attribute our son's early ability to sleep through the night to swaddling. He even slept soundly at 2 1/2 months through the massive tornado that hit our house (and then, like idiots, we woke him up).
Three cheers for swaddling!
