Name: Baby Lincoln
Location: Hollywood, CA
I didn't have a lot of money to spend, so I really had to use things I had and get crafty. The inspiration for the room came from my husband's autographed Ringo Starr drumsticks.
When I was clearing out the room I really didn't know what to do with them, and I had to keep them or my husband would be upset (I personally don't love the style of the framing.) So, I decided, we love the Beatles and wouldn't it be fun to do sort of a Beatles nursery. Also, I really love eco-friendly items (I used to own an eco boutique in Austin,TX) so we went for an eco-friendly Beatles psychedelic under water yellow submarine nursery.
Almost everything in the nursery is repurposed from things we already owned. Like a set of Dwell sheets that had worn a hole in them, so I cut them up. We had been holding on to all these toys as well that my husband wouldn't part with over the years. I have to thank him for being a packrat because it was fun to use them in the nursery.

White Enamel Flatwa...
Great job in re-purposing so much to create such a lovely nursery. That robot is so cute!
I LOVE that patchwork quilt! The texture is fantastic...too bad for me it was a thrift store find, but lucky you!
Great ocean wave pillow, I want one! And beautiful job creating from a small budget, it feels real!
I love this room! That robot is so familiar but I can't place it. It's genius placement. Great job!
Love the Beatles and this room. Always great idea if you can get a couch in the mix. Perfect for snuggling, nursing, and reading!
The room is awesome! It looks fresh and cozy. Perfect for a baby. The room is still useful as a peaceful hangout for the family. I love the recent modest nursery posts, they are much more real and inviting.
Love it. What is the paint color? I have been looking for a similar light neutral yellow.
I'm sorry I have no idea what color the paint is. I am a renter, so I just accepted the paint here. I didn't want to mess with painting it back later. If it had been my choice, it probably would've been white. But, this sandy color is nice. I sort of pretended it was sand at th beach.
Hi Amanda,
I am the casting coordinator for HGTV's upcoming web series, "ChildStyle with Rebecca Woolf," and I'm very interested in showcasing Lincoln's room on the show.
The show is about children’s rooms (playrooms, bedrooms, nurseries, teen rooms, girls’ rooms, boys’ rooms, you name it) that are unique and interesting. The purpose is to present ideas to parents looking to spice up a space for their kids.
If interested, please contact me at 818-333-3704 as soon as possible as we’re looking to start shooting in July.
Thank you for your time and consideration!
