When Kayla was planning a baby shower for her friend Elizabeth, she knew that the crafty expectant mom would love a group-made quilt but didn't want to get stuck holding the needle and thread for all of the applique stitching. Kayla came up with a great solution that resulted in a fun shower activity and an exceptionally beautiful quilt. Learn more after the jump.
Starting with scrapbook paper to create a background resembling pieced fabric, the shower guests collaborated on a paper collage. Once the collage was complete, Kayla used her camera and tripod to take a high resolution photograph, which she uploaded to Spoonflower, where she also designed the "baby Mac" (their last name) fabric that she used for the blocks border. Thanks to Kayla for sharing and good luck to mama Elizabeth!
