I am officially a graduate student today. As a way to quell my anxiety, I've been organizing my desk like a mad woman to ensure everything is in tip top shape for the long days ahead. And while my pen cup is full and my to do list is at my beckon call, a little humor and good design would help to ease the transition into the school year. Here is a roundup of some of my favorite fun (and somewhat superfluous) desk accessories:
TOP ROW (FROM LEFT TO RIGHT):
1 - Staple addicts will love Staple City by Shay Carmon, this new way to store staples reminiscent of a downtown skyline as opposed to that pedestrian box.
2 - If you are addicted to post it notes, but not to their wastefulness, try the Ceramic Memo Board, available from Sorting with Style.
3 - Organize your paper work in style with these Numberclips, available from The Spoon Sisters. Found via Oh Happy Day!
4 - If you are like me, filing documents usually only happens on your computer. For those nostalgic of the days when file folders ruled our organizational lives, celebrate that time with Folder Chairs from Studio Rita. Found via Core 77.
5 - Everyone needs a desk calendar and lovers of type will adore the Typodarium 2011 by Lars Harmsen and Raban Ruddigkeit. Found via deedee9:14.
BOTTOM ROW (FROM LEFT TO RIGHT):
1 - If you value style, industrial style, and, well, heft, (and money is no concern), the Umamy Concrete Desk Set was designed for you. Found via Better Living Through Design.
2 - When ordinary documents require a little panache, these Desk Rubber Stamps from Present and Correct will do just the trick. Found via Poppytalk.
