We've seen forts and treehouses, but what about an observation deck? This space looks like the ultimate star gazing spot for any family and has the possibility for oh so many memories.
We spotted this space over at the blog Dude Craft. It's from the French site Living With You. This space is special, not just because it's different, but because it's inviting for people of all ages. Granted, without giant safety rails, it's probably best shared by parents and children alike until they're old enough to be trusted not to jump off.
Many backyard kids spaces are usually just that, kids spaces. The idea of crawling up a tree or through small doors into club houses isn't always appealing, but this looks like a great space to teach your children about the cosmos or possibly make out with your husband or wife once the kids have gone to bed!

Sprout Side Table
Having a toddler and a preschooler, this deck looks the opposite of relaxing to me (unprotected heights! fire! inside glass! next to flammable curtains and pillows!), but it's gorgeous and I bet I'd like it in a few years without my mommy safety goggles on. :)
Great idea! What is that - a full-sized loft bed? Another cool idea for moving a bed frame outside.
This is without a doubt one of the COOLEST things I've ever seen and so inspires my inner astronomer! I've been waiting for my daughter to get old enough to watch the annual Perseid meteor shower with me....
Cool! What's on the 1st floor?
@hyzen, totally agree. but still love the whimsy nonetheless. or the dream of the whimsy!
Gotta love that American Apparel ad of a butt right below...
I want one!
