Backyard Entertaining: DIY Teepee

What do I love most about this teepee? One, it requires only a few materials from your local Home Depot. And two, it's big enough that even the parents can hang out in it with their kids! (If they're allowed, of course.)

When they moved into their Northern California ranch house, the Pitt family realized that they loved to spend time in their west-facing front yard under the afternoon sun. While Greg and Karen Pitt indulged in happy hour in the garden, their two kids enjoyed their own playtime in this simple but amazing DIY teepee.

Using six bamboo poles, three painters' drop cloths, some rope, nuts and bolts, the crafty dad spent only two hours building the teepee, and plans to jazz up the blank canvas this summer with some paint (though it already looks great in its natural state).
