Kara breaks the elements down to the following:
• A Place to Splash
• A Place to Get Messy
• Room to be Loud and
• Time to Observe
You may not have room for a kiddie pool in your backyard, but you can fill up a storage bin and let your kids pretend to wash dishes in it on the balcony. You might not have a huge yard where kids can play in the dirt, but you can create a sensory table or a container garden. Keep the element and just adapt it to your individual situation. You get the idea.
