On the heels of these modern genealogical charts, we saw this playful take on the family tree by Sarah Neuburger of The Small Object and are finding ourselves quite enamored.

Perhaps best known for her wooden wedding cake toppers, Sarah will semi-customize a boy or girl doll (you choose the hair, clothing and balloon color) and write the names of twelve family members on the balloons (or leave them blank for you to fill in yourself). If a 3-D balloon family tree ($150) is out of your budget, Sarah also offers a "balloon bunch" print ($18), shown above, on which you could write out a small family tree.
