It must also be the year of the Bamboo Dog, because bamboo is now being used for things that were previously unimaginable. We've already seen bamboo take over veneers at Crate & Barrel and John Kelly, and now it's into bedding.
Touted as beneficial because bamboo is sustainable and not grown with pesticides, these sheets are called "hypoallergenic" and "far more breathable than cotton". There is some debate as to the benefits of bamboo, but with China behind most of the production, we may simply be in for it. Strangely, 100% bamboo sheets are not cheap.
Here's a list of what we've found so far:

For more information on these wonderful sheets, you can read it here: http://www.economicallysound.com/bamboo_sheets.html
It addresses care of bamboo sheets and the difference in 100% bamboo vs. bamboo/cotton blend. I love my 100% bamboo sheets.
Not to be a downer here, but it IS true that the chemical processing required to break bamboo down into textile fiber is not very eco friendly. At least not yet. Here's a brief article on the topic: http://greencotton.wordpress.com/2007/10/02/bamboo-miracle-plant-vs-troublesome-fiber/
And OMG, the amount of spamming that Anna Rose is doing on this board AND many other eco forums I've visited tonight while researching bamboo textiles is SO obnoxious. I wouldn't buy anything from them, no matter what they had to offer.
I was interested to read this whole thread to see if I could find an answer to a mystery: I have 100% bamboo sheets at Bloomingdale's and they are AWFUL. Never saw so much pilling. And they are really rough, rough, rough to the touch and on the skin. Makes me hate to move in bed. I'm finally getting rid of them. Like sleeping on flexible sheets of cardboard. Why is that?
While it is true that bamboo processing (for sheets and clothes) still has ecological downsides, there are some companies that have figured out how to do it organically (without use of harsh chemicals) such as Jonano. More on bamboo processing and organic companies
http://greencotton.wordpress.com/category/bamboo/
Also if you have not already tried bamboo towels, I highly recommend them! They are probably the softest towels that I have ever touched. When organically processed, they can be great for babies too. Be wary of which company manufactures them though since they are not ALL green.
I have to agree with some of the previous sentiments. There is absolutely NO REASON to pay $250 for 100% bamboo sheets from "Elegant Linens from Anna Rose" when you can pay less than half the price at Bed Bath & Beyond as well as some internet retailers. To charge that much for this product is downright SHAMEFUL and GREEDY of Anna Rose!
I purchased Bamboo sheets from Target online. They were very soft as expected from the reviews. The hems unraveled after the first wash, even following the tag precisely. Here is where the real headache started. On subsequent washes holes started to appear. Since 90 days had elapsed since purchase Target online would not exchange or refund my money. Customer service could not give me any manufacturer information other then the brand name. It was up to me to call the company in India which would not stand behind there product and passed it back on Target. Target did not respond to my e-mails. The only solution I got from Target customer service was to buy another set. Following their advice I purchased another set, returned the defective ones on that receipt, and tried to return the good unopened ones on the same receipt. They will not take them back because it shows in the computer as returned, my 90 days is up for return so they say there is nothing they can do. At this point I am done with this, they have lost any future business of mine. I am spreading the word of there lack of customer service and poor quality merchandise.
Well hello to you all!
I have been doing the bamboo thing for a while now.
My familly and I have been sleeping on bamboo sheets for 1 -2 years, and i will NEVER SLEEP ON COTTON AGAIN, OK MAYBE ORGANIC mixed with bamboo.
I can say that I have not tried many of the brands that are spoken about on this forum, but I want to say that if you are planning to buy bamboo sheets try to buy a high thread count and make it ONLY 100% BAMBOO FIBER in the sheet!!!!!
I am sure most people dont know that there are standards in organics textiles. But these standards are not inforced so if you really want to know that you sleeping on a chemical free sheet look for some sort of certification of fabric, some companies take short cuts in processing there bamboo.
I have been buying the same sheet at Simmons in Montreal for the last 3 years and they are truly dreamy!!!
they are 100% bamboo , 300 thread count and they feel and sleep better than all of the blended bamboo sheets with cotton i have tried in the past.
I just searched for ''300 thread count 100% bamboo bed sheet'' in GOOGLE and I only found one site that sells it,
I will give them a free plug looks like they have the right product...
I am sure there are many more but they have the same product I am sleeping on ..any ways i just bought a set ....let you know when it comes in and i dream away on them for a few weeks or so and wash them..... they have SATEEN BAMBOO and I loveeeeee sateen bamboo!!!
SOOOOOOO goood!!
http://www.sleepbamboo.com/
I can also say that washing 100% bamboo is not so tricky. I use woolite every third wash, and vinegar and baking soda all the other times.
I have a few sets that I tried my favorite TIDE and they passed with flying colors.
Overall to get that perfect sleep on them I truly recommend a quick light heat iron then quickly on the bed.
I do lobve my bamboo sheets, I think it is just a matter of time before the whole world sleeps on them.
For now it is the best kept secret i can tell you.
Thanks for listening all you tue Bamboo Lovers!
Anna Rose spammed the hell out of this thread, that I know.
My sweetie and I truly enjoy our 100% Bamboo sheets. I wasn't sure about the investment but found that it was completely worth it! I don't believe we will ever go back to cotton considering all of the benefits and how yummy the sheets feel. We purchased our sheets from http://www.sleepbamboo.com. Their customer service was and is excellent. They sent us a sample before we decided to purchase the sheets because I was curious how the texture would be. Sleeping in these sheets is like sleeping on satin but without the slippery feel. They warm up quickly and they also acclimate to warm body temperature too ;). I hear they will get softer as we wash them and I can't imagine how much softer they can get. Go to the website, get a sample and make the investment! Cheers! cmh
I bought the 250 threadcount sheets Target had last Christmas, and love them, although like anything marketed by Target as a lower-priced item, they probably won't last long. I guess I'll go with Bed Bath and Beyond next.
PS I looked at the linked page, greencotton and if the worst chemical used to process bamboo into thread is lye, I can probably live with that compared to what's used for creating the dyes and any synthetic fabric (lycra, anyone?) that most of my clothes are made with. Bamboo (or bamboo/cotton mixes) seem to be a good compromise for those of us not wealthy enough to go completely green.
Why spend your money at Anna Rose? Quality Quality Quality. Can you compare Neimans to Target? Not all bamboo sheets are made equally. I love my bamboo sheets. I bought there for the quality. I pay for quality. I have been using the same two bamboo sets I bought at Elegant Linens by Anna Rose for three years. Be kind. The owner has cancer.
I also bought the organic bamboo sheets from Target and they are total crap. I used them for two months before they started to pill up. I've been emailing back and forth with customer service and so far no resolution. Their return policy is awful. The worst in the industry and they won't take responsibility for selling shoddy products.
During the holidays we received a gift of 500 Thread Count Bamboo Bed Sheets from SweetDreamsBamboo.com.
Well, let me say that my wife and I were delighted! What a great product! Soft as butter, and very durable! We put it on our bed and we never want to sleep on anything else.. in fact, we went back and purchased a Bamboo Fiber Duvet Cover too! Lucky for us, SweetDreamsBamboo.com is now offering 50% off and free shipping this month!
Hmm, I would have to agree with QualityCounts. Quality Bamboo Bed Sheets are worth the price. They are more durable, and are Oeka-Tex Standard 100 certified, whcih no harmfull chemicals were used to create the Bamboo fiber. And finally, the feel and the durability of the product speaks for itslef. I am very happy with the products from Sweet Dreams Bamboo, and will continue to pay for quality.
Do not spend your hard earned money on mixed rayons, and inferior quality products. Invest in products that are pure, 100% natural and that will last. I bought 2 sets of the 500 Thread Count Bamboo Bed Sheets from SweetDreamsBamboo , these are terrific and are on sales through the month of February. Try these, you will be impressed and delighted. Let me know what you think!
Hello,
Just signed up because of a fish for two sauce recipe we found while Googling! (Great site here sans the blatant spamming).
Anyhow, thought we would put our two cents in on this subject:
A. We are very experienced in purchasing linens and top of the bed items.
B. We sleep either organic or natural (as close to it that we can) from our mattress, bed legs, mattress topper, comforters and of course sheets. Most products we buy are very expensive because the quality is top tier. We will not buy anything other than the best.
C. We purchase from the hard to find sheets website because they offer the up to 22" fitted sheets and top tier product which we need for our mattress.
D. We have tried the discount stores, target, wal-mart, costco, sams but mostly were disappointed in the durability and feel of our bedding. Comforter sets literally dulling after one wash! Sheets that pilled, felt scratchy - stuff like that. We no longer even debate to shop at these places, most products they carry are made specifically for that discount price level, are closeouts or simply are just not good quality period.
E. We recently ordered 100% bamboo (new to their line) from the hard to find sheets website and they are absolutely incredible. we have purchased their sateen before which is wonderful but the bamboo is one notch above at the moment. They are expensive, the quality is excellent and I am sure they will last as all our sateen and organic sheets we purchased from them in the past. www.HardToFindSheets.com We highly recommend the product!
F. We would like to ask if anyone knows of a place that sells bamboo clothing? 100% bamboo in particular and whether they actually purchased from the website? We would like a recommendation from experience if possible! Our sheets wash very well, how do say bamboo t-shirts launder? Would also like to find ladies bamboo jeans if such a product even exists!!
G. Thanks in advance for the feedback and responses (hoping to find someone who owns bamboo clothing!!)
H. I better stop here before I get to letter Z!

I. Since my link above did not work: www.HardToFindSheets.com This one should... maybe. I guess I got farther down to Z than expected lol. Ok, off to cook! Fish anyone?
Our recent purchase of your luxury bamboo sheets has been one of those times when shopping online was a real pleasure and well worth the extra we paid for your unique products. The 500 Thread Count bamboo sheets from http://www.sweetdreamsbamboo.com/ are pure heaven. They are smooth as silk; easy to care for and even helped solve my husband’s allergy problems. Believe it or not he snores less! Thanks also for the excellent service, we could not be happier. Roberta B. Cook
I too just had to write and brag about our recent acquisition from SweetDreamsBamboo On-line Store. We took advantage of the 50% off the Bamboo Fiber Duvet cover set, and went ahead and purchased the combo set of Azure (Blue) 500 Thread Count set of sheets and duvet cover. Now I am telling everyone I meet that I am sold on Bamboo sheets, specially the 500 Thread Count. Funny, I went from a timid housewife to a Bamboo Sheets evangelist! Thanks again SDB. I will be back. Heather.
I got mini-bamboos in my farm but i never taught it can be made into fine sheet. I like this post.
For almost a year all i ever had was anEgyptian Cotton Sheet which my girlfriend gave it to me as a gift last valentines. For me, nothing can beat the comfort this Egyptian cotton sheet gives me. It feels like i am sleeping on a glorious golden bed, wrap around with priceless jewels, surrounded by 20 beautiful maidens and sleeping with CLEOPATRA!! hahaha.. I know Lipkin010 can relate with me because he also had one.
Surely if my girlfriend reads this post my fantasy Sheet might be thrown and burnt away because of the 20 maidens and sleeping with CLEOPATRA.. hahaha..
Anyways this was the specific sheet my girlfriend gave me:
http://www.luxorlinens.com/Valentino-Stripe-1200tc-Egyptian-Cotton-Sheets-p-281.html
It looks perfect with my bed. It matches my room paint. For you who wants to fantasize the maidens and Cleopatra, buy one now and try it.. :D
I have been dying to buy bamboo sheets. I am so happy to hear that they are as soft and luxurious as I have heard. But are the durable? We go through sheets pretty fast in our house.
Thanks,
Kristi

After seeing the past reviews for Sweet Dreams Bamboo I decided to check out the competition as I'm scouting for Wedding registry items. I went to Linen Chest and found that they did not carry the 500 thread count sheets the SDB had, yet I had to try them. So I decided to order some right away and I also took advantage of the Great "Winter White" Sale.
Boy was I pleased! It feels almost like silk sheets yet they're antibacterial and great for keeping you warm in the winter and cool in the summer!
Check it out here: http://shop.sweetdreamsbamboo.com/
LOVE IT!
I bought Egyptian Cotton Sheets about 4 months ago and was really surprised how lovely they are to sleep on. Our cat also loves them for some reason which is both a blessing and a curse as she snores and wakes me up sometimes! x
