It must also be the year of the Bamboo Dog, because bamboo is now being used for things that were previously unimaginable. We've already seen bamboo take over veneers at Crate & Barrel and John Kelly, and now it's into bedding.
Touted as beneficial because bamboo is sustainable and not grown with pesticides, these sheets are called "hypoallergenic" and "far more breathable than cotton". There is some debate as to the benefits of bamboo, but with China behind most of the production, we may simply be in for it. Strangely, 100% bamboo sheets are not cheap.
Here's a list of what we've found so far:

White Enamel Flatwa...
I ordered the bamboo sheets from Target in white, but when they showed up, they were cream. Didn't match my bedroom at all. Soft though--just don't order the white if you're expecting white.
Garnet Hill enters the race, too, but with a Bamboo/Cotton blend... great colors.
Click on my name for the link.
As any other knitters out there could tell you, bamboo yarn is also appearing rapidly at various price points in the fiber world.
I recall reading somewhere that bamboo is not quite as renewable a resource as marketers have recently and enthusiastically claimed: anyone else heard similar stories?
it's such a strange material! last year my mom bought a gorgeous and soft burnt-orange bamboo sweater. it looks like cashmere. i would have never guessed!
Jennifer, that would be surprising, since some species of bamboo literally grow 3 feet a day. Granted, that's only a few strains, but it's hard to control, because it grows and multiplies so quickly.
Bamboo is an interesting material, bamboo which grows quickly, and reaches it's full height in less then a year normally doesn't mature till the age of 4-5, thats for the larger, harder varities. Many people, forget, that like everything else, older is better. Younger harvested bamboo flooring is easy scratched and damaged compared to the older. Once more, it's the lack of knowledge about this fascinating and plentiful grass that makes it seem a bit odd. ((Wow! I sound like a book! Uhm I want some sheets!! Soft and pretty and hypoallergenic is great for people with severe allergies like me! ^^))
Bamboo Sheets: Garnet Hill website is selling 70% bamboo 30% cotton- in fantastic colors!
The bamboo sheets that are carried on Elegant Linens by Anna Rose are the real thing. 100% natural. Antibacterial. Beautiful colors. A fabulous hand and look. Oversized top sheets and deep deep bottom sheets. Every person that have slept on these sheets swear they will never sleep on anything else. Totally addictive. Beyond comfortable. Check out www.elegantlinensbyannarose.com
I skeptically bought some bamboo sheets a while back -- all I can say is GLORIOUS. They are gorgeously soft, heavy like silk but absorbant. It is a HEAVENLY material. Don't know if the manufacturer makes a difference or not, but the ones I bought give me the most beautiful sleep. I love my bed now!!
Target has these sheets on clearance in the stores in Florida. I am not sure elsewhere. One store had them at 50% off.
ERin ERin the bamboo sheets from target are crap! I felt them and they were no better than sand paper. 100% bamboo fiber sheets are like silk. As I mentioned earlier the best are at Elegant Linens by Anna Rose!!
Received my linens from ElegantLinensbyAnnaRose and aside from the pleasure I experience from sleeping on these creamy soft beddings, the service and professional care received from Arlene was top quality.
I too got my bamboo sheets at Elegant Linens by Anna Rose . . . Unbelievable!! I also bought the MicroCotton Herringbone blanket. Softer than a babies bottom; better than a 5-star resort! The MicroCotton towels are the most incredible towels I have ever used. Soft, absorbent, beautiful colors, and they come out of the dryer twice as thick as when I got them. I am up to four sets of the MicroCotton towels, and look forward a few more sets in the new summer colors. I love the bath towel size. I recommend this site highly, their prices are unbelievable. I was especially impressed with the customer service, which is more like having a personal shopper. Thanks
'ANNA ROSE' QUIT SPAMMING THIS SITE WITH YOUR COMMENTS-DO YOU THINK IT'S NOT TOTALLY OBVIOUS THAT YOUR COMMENTS ARE FROM FAKE 'CUSTOMERS'?!?! 'ARLENE,' 'MICHAEL,' 'RENEE'-GO SPAM SOME OTHER SITE, OR PAY TO ADVERTISE-I'D NEVER BUY A THING FROM YOUR 'ANNA ROSE' STORE
I felt the bamboo sheets at Target and did not like them AT ALL. I decided to treat myself and buy the good stuff, ordered through elegantlinensbyannarose.com and LOVE them. I don't use a top sheet, and I called Anna Rose and I was able to purchase just the fitted and the pillowcases. My friends are getting married and I'm buying them a set and recommending these to anyone I can. Simply amazing.
And, actually, Duke, I am not spamming the site for Anna Rose. To do business with them was a truly pleasant experience and it is unfortunate that you put that comment up.
BUYERS: Please do not allow this unfortunate comment from DUKE dissuade you from purchasing these lovely linens from Anna Rose.
I bought the Bamboo sheets at Target. They are 60% Bamboo and 40% cotton.
They are incredibly soft and great for the hot Texas heat!! They feel almost as good as my 600 TC egyptian cotton sheets.
I will by more bamboo sheets in the future, if you can find these at Target, BUY THEM before they are gone. YOu will not regret it!
Target seems to be out of the bamboo sheets. My mom got me one set & my husband & I both love the ones from Target. Does anybody know where I can find some for under $70 a set? I went to Anna'a site & while they sound wonderful, I simply will not pay $200+ for a king size sheet set.
Thanks!
i bought bamboo sheets from target and LOVE them, i am obsessed with sheets and i saw these and thought 'why not' love them more than anything. and they only cost me about 35 bucks ... i think. i just wish target still sold them cuz i'd love to buy more.
also i checked out that anna rose site ... rip off!!! thats all i have to say.
I purchased the Target bamboo sheets and after teh 3rd washing the sheets started pilling up. I was very disappointed. I had read so many good comments on bamboo sheets, my own experience did not bear our those I read on the 'net. Buyer Beware.
Elegant Linens by Anna Rose is having a sale until the end of the month! Stock up now! No pilling, no piling, just the finest pure bamboo sheets! www.elegantlinensbyannarose.com
I just purchased 2 sets of the 500 thread count bamboo / cotton sheets from Boscov's. They have a couple bright colors that I have been trying to find to no avail & they were under $50 for a king set! Worth a try at the price.
My room is done in turquoise, hot pink, purple, saphire and lime green. Sounds strange but it is bright and beautiful. My problem has been finding sheets in bold colors. I ordered the Glacier and Mento sets.

I ordered bamboo sheets from Anna Rose 6weeks ago and am still waiting for them. I have recieved contradictory excuses from Anna Rose (one time they claimed the sheets were held up in customs, the next time they claimed their source had not yet sent them out.) Has any one else ordered through Anna Rose before - I'm beginning to think they may be a scam. I will be happy to update this comment when/if I recieve the sheets. Jan
I recieved my bamboo sheets order from Anna Rose today, August 28.
Check out Bed bath and beyond. Super cheap 100% bamboo twill sheets.
I LOVE my bamboo sheets from Target. I've washed them over and over and over (once a week) and they're still soft and fresh.
Sadly, they don't have them anymore, and I really need more than one set!
I have 2 sets of bamboo sheets from target. I think they're great, and they're holding up to weekly washings. Just wish they still sold them. I guess I"ll try bed bath and beyond.
Just got 300 thread count,60 Cotton 40 Bamboo Wamsutta Sheets from Ross. Grant it is just a Set for a Full bed...but they were only 24.95. The Aritic White does look a little off white...but they feel like nice Westin Bedsheets. Seem to be great quality...
i just purchased a king white bamboo sheet set at Sam's for $62 and change. the queen are the same price. they are in the washer right now and i hope that i like them as much as you all do. 250 thread count.
Hi I am interested in finding out if anyone knows a place I can get 100% bamboo in Canada. And I don't want to buy Sheets from Anna Rose. I think this would be the greatest gift for my Aunt. I am also going to buy her a set of towels.
me too! where can you buy bamboo sheets in canada????
I think Frosty the Snowman sells them in Canada
Bamboo as a textile fiber is actually, generically RAYON (the same as rayon from wood pulp) and the content label should be "RAYON" or "RAYON from bamboo" if the marketer want to have bamboo on the label. It might grow fast but to put bamboo into a textile fiber requires a lot of chemical processing. I like the eco idea around bamboo, but the whole bamboo texitle thing is a little bit of a sham. Once it's processed, it's not anything we haven't already seen.
For the Canadians out there, I just bought the Wamsutta 60/40 sheet set from The Bay. $99 CDN for Queen size. Hopefully they will be wonderful!
I just bought 100% bamboo sheets at bed bath and beynd--they are exquisite, but I, too, wonder about the chemical processing that produced them. Does anyone know where I might get more details about the chemicals used and the process, i.e. possible environmental costs?
An earth-friendly store in Victoria, BC called The Good Planet Company carries 100% bamboo bedding sheet sets. Unfortunately only in white and ivory, but they are like butter.
I just bought the 100% bamboo sheets from Bed, Bath and Beyond. They are heavenly. They are 250 thread count, but are softer than 800 tc of cotton or sateen. I only purchase high-end sheets, it's where I splurge because I love to be comfortable when I sleep. Try these sheets. They are softer than egyptian cotton or sateen! Wash on gentle in cool or cool/warm water and dry on low/medium. They don't wrinkle either. Fantastic sheets, you won't be sorry with this purchase!
I have bought many sets of bamboo sheets from Elegant Linens by Anna Rose, and have only had a great experience with them. They only carry the pure bamboo sheets. Anna Rose has even sent quickly for gifts. I recommend them to anyone who desires the personal touch. Also they are having a special sale right now. Check out the beautiful spring colors, too!
just bought a set 300 count from the Bay -- 60-40blend --- had a fabulous sleep -- hope it will hold out in the wash and if so will purchase more -- they are on for 75$queen ---- mariska
I just received a king size set of Bamboo sheets today from QVC that I paid $80 for which included tax & shipping. I opened them & they feel really soft like silk but not slippery like silk. I will have to wash them & put them on the bed tomorrow so I can see if they sleep as well as my egyptian cotton sheets. The tag on them does say 100% Rayon from Bamaboo.
We are currently on our second set of bamboo sheets from Elegant Linens by Anna Rose. My husband and I love them and can no longer sleep on anything else. We never thought in a million years that we would spend so much on bed linens, however considering the amount of time spent in bed, that is not a place to skimp.
We also have the bed spread, the look and feel is elegant.
I was also very impressed with the customer service, Arlene took the time to discuss my color choice with me to make sure I would be pleased with the outcome............ and I was.
Thank you Arlene and you will be hearing from me again soon.
Kathleen
Hi
You can find them at Linen Chest (Canada).
Amazing Sheets!!!
For more information on these wonderful sheets, you can read it here: http://www.economicallysound.com/bamboo_sheets.html
It addresses care of bamboo sheets and the difference in 100% bamboo vs. bamboo/cotton blend. I love my 100% bamboo sheets.
Not to be a downer here, but it IS true that the chemical processing required to break bamboo down into textile fiber is not very eco friendly. At least not yet. Here's a brief article on the topic: http://greencotton.wordpress.com/2007/10/02/bamboo-miracle-plant-vs-troublesome-fiber/
And OMG, the amount of spamming that Anna Rose is doing on this board AND many other eco forums I've visited tonight while researching bamboo textiles is SO obnoxious. I wouldn't buy anything from them, no matter what they had to offer.
I was interested to read this whole thread to see if I could find an answer to a mystery: I have 100% bamboo sheets at Bloomingdale's and they are AWFUL. Never saw so much pilling. And they are really rough, rough, rough to the touch and on the skin. Makes me hate to move in bed. I'm finally getting rid of them. Like sleeping on flexible sheets of cardboard. Why is that?
While it is true that bamboo processing (for sheets and clothes) still has ecological downsides, there are some companies that have figured out how to do it organically (without use of harsh chemicals) such as Jonano. More on bamboo processing and organic companies
http://greencotton.wordpress.com/category/bamboo/
Also if you have not already tried bamboo towels, I highly recommend them! They are probably the softest towels that I have ever touched. When organically processed, they can be great for babies too. Be wary of which company manufactures them though since they are not ALL green.
I have to agree with some of the previous sentiments. There is absolutely NO REASON to pay $250 for 100% bamboo sheets from "Elegant Linens from Anna Rose" when you can pay less than half the price at Bed Bath & Beyond as well as some internet retailers. To charge that much for this product is downright SHAMEFUL and GREEDY of Anna Rose!
I purchased Bamboo sheets from Target online. They were very soft as expected from the reviews. The hems unraveled after the first wash, even following the tag precisely. Here is where the real headache started. On subsequent washes holes started to appear. Since 90 days had elapsed since purchase Target online would not exchange or refund my money. Customer service could not give me any manufacturer information other then the brand name. It was up to me to call the company in India which would not stand behind there product and passed it back on Target. Target did not respond to my e-mails. The only solution I got from Target customer service was to buy another set. Following their advice I purchased another set, returned the defective ones on that receipt, and tried to return the good unopened ones on the same receipt. They will not take them back because it shows in the computer as returned, my 90 days is up for return so they say there is nothing they can do. At this point I am done with this, they have lost any future business of mine. I am spreading the word of there lack of customer service and poor quality merchandise.
Well hello to you all!
I have been doing the bamboo thing for a while now.
My familly and I have been sleeping on bamboo sheets for 1 -2 years, and i will NEVER SLEEP ON COTTON AGAIN, OK MAYBE ORGANIC mixed with bamboo.
I can say that I have not tried many of the brands that are spoken about on this forum, but I want to say that if you are planning to buy bamboo sheets try to buy a high thread count and make it ONLY 100% BAMBOO FIBER in the sheet!!!!!
I am sure most people dont know that there are standards in organics textiles. But these standards are not inforced so if you really want to know that you sleeping on a chemical free sheet look for some sort of certification of fabric, some companies take short cuts in processing there bamboo.
I have been buying the same sheet at Simmons in Montreal for the last 3 years and they are truly dreamy!!!
they are 100% bamboo , 300 thread count and they feel and sleep better than all of the blended bamboo sheets with cotton i have tried in the past.
I just searched for ''300 thread count 100% bamboo bed sheet'' in GOOGLE and I only found one site that sells it,
I will give them a free plug looks like they have the right product...
I am sure there are many more but they have the same product I am sleeping on ..any ways i just bought a set ....let you know when it comes in and i dream away on them for a few weeks or so and wash them..... they have SATEEN BAMBOO and I loveeeeee sateen bamboo!!!
SOOOOOOO goood!!
http://www.sleepbamboo.com/
I can also say that washing 100% bamboo is not so tricky. I use woolite every third wash, and vinegar and baking soda all the other times.
I have a few sets that I tried my favorite TIDE and they passed with flying colors.
Overall to get that perfect sleep on them I truly recommend a quick light heat iron then quickly on the bed.
I do lobve my bamboo sheets, I think it is just a matter of time before the whole world sleeps on them.
For now it is the best kept secret i can tell you.
Thanks for listening all you tue Bamboo Lovers!
Anna Rose spammed the hell out of this thread, that I know.
My sweetie and I truly enjoy our 100% Bamboo sheets. I wasn't sure about the investment but found that it was completely worth it! I don't believe we will ever go back to cotton considering all of the benefits and how yummy the sheets feel. We purchased our sheets from http://www.sleepbamboo.com. Their customer service was and is excellent. They sent us a sample before we decided to purchase the sheets because I was curious how the texture would be. Sleeping in these sheets is like sleeping on satin but without the slippery feel. They warm up quickly and they also acclimate to warm body temperature too ;). I hear they will get softer as we wash them and I can't imagine how much softer they can get. Go to the website, get a sample and make the investment! Cheers! cmh
I bought the 250 threadcount sheets Target had last Christmas, and love them, although like anything marketed by Target as a lower-priced item, they probably won't last long. I guess I'll go with Bed Bath and Beyond next.
PS I looked at the linked page, greencotton and if the worst chemical used to process bamboo into thread is lye, I can probably live with that compared to what's used for creating the dyes and any synthetic fabric (lycra, anyone?) that most of my clothes are made with. Bamboo (or bamboo/cotton mixes) seem to be a good compromise for those of us not wealthy enough to go completely green.
Why spend your money at Anna Rose? Quality Quality Quality. Can you compare Neimans to Target? Not all bamboo sheets are made equally. I love my bamboo sheets. I bought there for the quality. I pay for quality. I have been using the same two bamboo sets I bought at Elegant Linens by Anna Rose for three years. Be kind. The owner has cancer.
I also bought the organic bamboo sheets from Target and they are total crap. I used them for two months before they started to pill up. I've been emailing back and forth with customer service and so far no resolution. Their return policy is awful. The worst in the industry and they won't take responsibility for selling shoddy products.
During the holidays we received a gift of 500 Thread Count Bamboo Bed Sheets from SweetDreamsBamboo.com.
Well, let me say that my wife and I were delighted! What a great product! Soft as butter, and very durable! We put it on our bed and we never want to sleep on anything else.. in fact, we went back and purchased a Bamboo Fiber Duvet Cover too! Lucky for us, SweetDreamsBamboo.com is now offering 50% off and free shipping this month!
Hmm, I would have to agree with QualityCounts. Quality Bamboo Bed Sheets are worth the price. They are more durable, and are Oeka-Tex Standard 100 certified, whcih no harmfull chemicals were used to create the Bamboo fiber. And finally, the feel and the durability of the product speaks for itslef. I am very happy with the products from Sweet Dreams Bamboo, and will continue to pay for quality.
Do not spend your hard earned money on mixed rayons, and inferior quality products. Invest in products that are pure, 100% natural and that will last. I bought 2 sets of the 500 Thread Count Bamboo Bed Sheets from SweetDreamsBamboo , these are terrific and are on sales through the month of February. Try these, you will be impressed and delighted. Let me know what you think!
Hello,
Just signed up because of a fish for two sauce recipe we found while Googling! (Great site here sans the blatant spamming).
Anyhow, thought we would put our two cents in on this subject:
A. We are very experienced in purchasing linens and top of the bed items.
B. We sleep either organic or natural (as close to it that we can) from our mattress, bed legs, mattress topper, comforters and of course sheets. Most products we buy are very expensive because the quality is top tier. We will not buy anything other than the best.
C. We purchase from the hard to find sheets website because they offer the up to 22" fitted sheets and top tier product which we need for our mattress.
D. We have tried the discount stores, target, wal-mart, costco, sams but mostly were disappointed in the durability and feel of our bedding. Comforter sets literally dulling after one wash! Sheets that pilled, felt scratchy - stuff like that. We no longer even debate to shop at these places, most products they carry are made specifically for that discount price level, are closeouts or simply are just not good quality period.
E. We recently ordered 100% bamboo (new to their line) from the hard to find sheets website and they are absolutely incredible. we have purchased their sateen before which is wonderful but the bamboo is one notch above at the moment. They are expensive, the quality is excellent and I am sure they will last as all our sateen and organic sheets we purchased from them in the past. www.HardToFindSheets.com We highly recommend the product!
F. We would like to ask if anyone knows of a place that sells bamboo clothing? 100% bamboo in particular and whether they actually purchased from the website? We would like a recommendation from experience if possible! Our sheets wash very well, how do say bamboo t-shirts launder? Would also like to find ladies bamboo jeans if such a product even exists!!
G. Thanks in advance for the feedback and responses (hoping to find someone who owns bamboo clothing!!)
H. I better stop here before I get to letter Z!

Our recent purchase of your luxury bamboo sheets has been one of those times when shopping online was a real pleasure and well worth the extra we paid for your unique products. The 500 Thread Count bamboo sheets from http://www.sweetdreamsbamboo.com/ are pure heaven. They are smooth as silk; easy to care for and even helped solve my husband’s allergy problems. Believe it or not he snores less! Thanks also for the excellent service, we could not be happier. Roberta B. Cook
I too just had to write and brag about our recent acquisition from SweetDreamsBamboo On-line Store. We took advantage of the 50% off the Bamboo Fiber Duvet cover set, and went ahead and purchased the combo set of Azure (Blue) 500 Thread Count set of sheets and duvet cover. Now I am telling everyone I meet that I am sold on Bamboo sheets, specially the 500 Thread Count. Funny, I went from a timid housewife to a Bamboo Sheets evangelist! Thanks again SDB. I will be back. Heather.
I got mini-bamboos in my farm but i never taught it can be made into fine sheet. I like this post.
For almost a year all i ever had was anEgyptian Cotton Sheet which my girlfriend gave it to me as a gift last valentines. For me, nothing can beat the comfort this Egyptian cotton sheet gives me. It feels like i am sleeping on a glorious golden bed, wrap around with priceless jewels, surrounded by 20 beautiful maidens and sleeping with CLEOPATRA!! hahaha.. I know Lipkin010 can relate with me because he also had one.
Surely if my girlfriend reads this post my fantasy Sheet might be thrown and burnt away because of the 20 maidens and sleeping with CLEOPATRA.. hahaha..
Anyways this was the specific sheet my girlfriend gave me:
http://www.luxorlinens.com/Valentino-Stripe-1200tc-Egyptian-Cotton-Sheets-p-281.html
It looks perfect with my bed. It matches my room paint. For you who wants to fantasize the maidens and Cleopatra, buy one now and try it.. :D
I have been dying to buy bamboo sheets. I am so happy to hear that they are as soft and luxurious as I have heard. But are the durable? We go through sheets pretty fast in our house.
Thanks,
Kristi

After seeing the past reviews for Sweet Dreams Bamboo I decided to check out the competition as I'm scouting for Wedding registry items. I went to Linen Chest and found that they did not carry the 500 thread count sheets the SDB had, yet I had to try them. So I decided to order some right away and I also took advantage of the Great "Winter White" Sale.
Boy was I pleased! It feels almost like silk sheets yet they're antibacterial and great for keeping you warm in the winter and cool in the summer!
Check it out here: http://shop.sweetdreamsbamboo.com/
LOVE IT!
I bought Egyptian Cotton Sheets about 4 months ago and was really surprised how lovely they are to sleep on. Our cat also loves them for some reason which is both a blessing and a curse as she snores and wakes me up sometimes! x
