For their first collection of rugs for children, The Rug Company went to Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby of British design duo Barber Osgerby. The designers — who already have a wonderfully colorful collection of rugs — combined bright colors with animal prints in 4 designs.
The Owl, Fishes, Snake and Butterfly rugs are all 100 knot, hand knotted Tibetan wool. Standard sizes start at $3,285 for a 7’6” x 5’ from The Rug Company. They can also be custom ordered to any size or color.

"Hey! This owls trying to look up my dress!"
The fish are super cute, it's almost like those glass bottomed boats!
The fish. But pricier than a Tufenkian!
Love the fish rug, but holy moly that's a lot of dough!
I love the butterflies but have to agree that's a ridiculous price to spend on something intended for children. For that money, it had better go in the living room.
between all the food my one year old plays with (not to mention my cat throwing up every so often), i can't imagine spending that kind of money on a rug. i went out and bought a beautiful used rug from craigslist and now i don't even flinch when the spaghetti hits the floor.
that said, the owl one is so lovely...
I love the fish rug too... but yikes! Too expensive!
I love the fish rug, but if I were going to spend that much on a one, I'd get one of Paul Smith's striped Rug Company rugs.
