Granted, baseball isn't a topic that comes up too often on Apartment Therapy, but as they say, tis the season — we just shared a roundup of some fun stuff yesterday. My dad is totally in the baseball zone right now on account of A-Rod being awesome and then some other awesome guys playing in a super awesome game together. Dad requested some options for baseball artwork that I'd "allow" him to get, and I found some cool pieces that actually have a lot of style and substance to them.
Vintage illustrations are great reminders of the storied American love affair with baseball, and artwork depicting the most illustrious heroes of the sport's past serve as meaningful reminders of those glory days. Modern abstract art can allow those viewers who don't have a personal connection with the literal concept of baseball to appreciate it through the eyes of the artist.
Have you come across sports-related art that you've enjoyed?

Honey & Fitz have a gorgeous set of photos of various pitches that would be so great in a kid's room:

Between yesterday and today's selection, you'd almost think the color-line hadn't been broken. There was an outstanding and inclusive display of baseball art at the George Krevsky gallery in San Francisco. I think it's come & gone, but he does it every year, and it just gets better and better.
