Basic Bicycle Maintenance Guide: WADT

My bike gets some pretty rough treatment - on road, off road, stairs, beaches - and it has served me well. But I confess, I don't look after it as well as I should. Why? Because beyond the really obvious on the run repairs like chains coming off or tires going flat I don't really know where to start. Thankfully I found a free, really basic bicycle maintenance guide that even I can understand.

The Western Australia Department of Transport has a basic bicycle maintenance schedule in it's cycling section which includes:

Basic tool kit information.
Daily, weekly and monthly maintenance schedules.
Tips on how to check and maintain your wheels, brakes, gears, steering, pedals and frame.
And step by step puncture repair instructions.

There's also localised tips on cycling at night, cycling on roads and taking your bike on public transport.
