I just finished reading The Night Circus by Erin Morganstern, where everything is black and white in the Le Cirque des Rêves — and it has me thinking in monochrome!
Here are some beautiful handmade items that are heavy on style — and light on color.
1. Black and White Sleepy Sheep Mobile: The Ugly Edith Shop
2. Black and white Heart Prints: Prints by Stella Chili
3. Owl Plush Baby Toy: Little Sidekick
4. Black and White Baby Blanket Bedding: pinkdixie
5. Black and White Alphabet Wooden Blocks: Stackblocks
6. Monochrome Teepee Play Tent: LoveLimeKids
7. Organic Black and White Cat Pillow: SewnNatural

love the teepee!!!
That book is AMAZING
Loving all the offerings here....in moderation. Babies really do require the visual stimulation of color for proper development. Many of the modern nursery interpretations shared here (while lovely) disturb me for that reason. I have to resist the urge to comment on those posts after parents have worked so hard to create such a lovely space. They truly are lovely...just not beneficial for baby.
I do understand you very well. Sometimes I feel torn between my monochrome aesthetics shaped during the years at the Architecture faculty years, and the experience I had as a volunteer in a art therapy center. I'm in love with those black/ white proposals but cannot stop wondering if, the day I'll have a baby, I will be ok to have that kind of style in the nursery. The good thing is black walls can turn into great painting spaces but is this enough? It'd be great if you could share your opinion or give references, here or anywhere else!
