Bath Ball Faucet Filter at Gaiam

Baths are for winding down, not loading up with chlorine. This little gizmo, the Bath Ball Faucet Filter at Gaiam cleans your bath water to 95% chlorine-free.

It attaches to the tub overflow and filters the water as it comes out of the faucet, filling the bath. The ball is sold by Gaiam for $60 and the filter, to be replaced annually, runs $35.

This is a good idea, of course. But baths use much more water than showers, so I think they should be a special treat. I wonder if the ball lasts longer if you only use it once a month or so?

erm, the activated carbon (or just regular carbon) in that ball wouldn't be much use.

Firstly, the amount in it would be rather insufficient to have more then 2 or 3 baths at most and second, the contact time between water and carbon (activated or otherwise) is far to short to have much effect on the chlorine, reduce, yes, maybe, but remove, very highly unlikely!
