Why would I need a lockable cabinet in my bathroom? I keep medicines away from kids by putting the medicines up high and telling the kids not to touch them and they don't.
Maybe to keep out nosey guests?
not to be scary or anything, but as a youngster my sister got a chair and got the meds off the top cabinet in the bathroom and ended up with her stomach pumped.
though, I guess if she was that clever, she could have found the key for a locking cabinet
Terry,
My mom used to think that I didn't touch the medication either. Then in fifth grade I drank a bottle of grape flu medication because it tasted yummy and I kind of knew it would make me feel good -- relaxed. I wasn't a delinquent or anything, just a normal kid.
When I'm a mom, I'm keeping a lock on the meds...

That lockable cabinet makes me thin of a home alarm box or an electrical panel. Understand the need, but it doesn't have to be so ugly.
I don't think it's ugly, just industrial. It would probably look fine in more modern bathrooms.
I fail to see how a plain white powdercoated sheet-metal rectangle has the capacity to be either beautiful or ugly. Unless you have a problem with the proportions, the construction detailing, or the locking hardware i would argue that its about as nondescript as it gets...
I have a lock box in my linen closet that I put our meds in and the emergency lighters. I started doing it when my boy was about 2. It's on a high shelf and locked. Kids can get into anything if it's not locked up. Better safe than sorry.
as a child- I ate an entire container of flintstones vitamins because they tasted good!
I have the acrylic shelves from the Container Store in my bathroom. LOVE THEM! And great price.
I guess my sister and I were odd. We never touched what Mom and Dad told us not to touch. There were plenty of other things not specifically off limits. LOL
I have that bamboo bathmat and it's not the greatest. It's held together by a plastic grid/webbing that's much more noticeable than I'd like. Plus, that plastic quickly took on an unpleasant dingy yellowed tone. It also won't lay flat. After rolling it, bending it, weighing it down, after almost a year, it still has a bit of curl/waviness on the edges. Oh, and almost right away, a few tiles split. Others quickly showed wear in the finish. It annoys me and I can't wait to replace it with something else.
Any thoughts on a medicine cabinet similar the Ikea one in price and aesthetic, but minus the lock?
The acrylic shelves are mighty tempting, too.
I liked the taste of baby aspirins when I was little - I used to sneak them out of the bottle whenever I got the chance.
A bamboo bath mat under foot after my relaxing shower? Give me plush!!
Love that lavender soy candles very much with $6 and they are great for a gift. My daughter will love this lavender candles.
