Of course, occasionally you get what you pay for, so do some due diligence on the brand and model you prefer and make sure the source has a reasonable return policy.

Shaw's Original Fir...
ahhh #10 is the faucet that currently haunts my bathroom. Hate the plastic jewel handles. I actually bought a replacement but cant get the shut off valve to work to replace it. I just wanted to let people know there are much nicer looking faucets out there in the $20-$30 range at your big box stores. I think I got mine at lowes.
Agree with adamwa (#10 is ugly)...plus those plastic "crystal" handles are hard to turn when your hands are wet and slippery.
Are you kidding Apartment Therapy? There are so many [good looking] options at Home Depot and Lowes. Like this Edgewood Faucet: http://bit.ly/iypZKe for 68.00 in brushed Nickel. And #10? Were Acrylic handles ever considered stylish? Try this http://bit.ly/kjDePg for only $24.86!!
Scrimping on an item that you touch and use every day is foolishness - When one of these off-brand faucets starts leaking needs a new cartridge, where are you going to get it?
Best to spend a few bucks more up front and invest in a quality faucet from a manufacturer like Moen, Delta, Kohler, etc which has been in business for decades and has readily available replacement parts.
bepsf - I agree 100 percent. While I'm currently trying to reason with myself that I don't need the $600 Rohl bathroom faucet, I can't understand cheaping out on something you use so often, especially given the high annoyance factor of a leaky faucet. Spend the bucks where it counts!
that first one looks like it wastes a whole BUNCH of water...
We had something that looked like #10 when we moved into a new house in 1981.
Let's allow this trend to die.
As someone who actually works in decorative plumbing, we have a joke that we shouldn't worry too much when people buy cheap fixtures...they will be back soon enough when their cheap pieces aren't functioning properly and they have come to their senses. You aren't saving ANY money long term by going cheap.
Finally, a post on faucets!
I recently ordered a really nice looking bathroom faucet from Overstock..I searched and found out that the same faucet was at least twice the amount i paid at the other websites. I love it so much that i am thinking about ordering another one for my powder room.
Recently purchase a $40 Pfister which promptly leaked due to a defect. Exchanged it for a $60 Moen. Couldn't be happier.
I think #10 was included as comment bait.
I bought a Peerless faucet for my bathroom sink. Peerless is a value priced line made by Delta. Stylish and a good price. I recommend that line if anyone needs a deal.
I'm redoing our bathroom with all Ikea, but had to draw the line at their faucets - ick. But I was shocked to find out how expensive faucets are elsewhere! Finally found this sweet little guy on sale for $102 ($68 off). Reviews on Overstock say it feels heavy and expensive - hoping it's true! http://www.csnstores.com/Vigo-Industries-VG01009CH-VGU1019.html
Actually, I bought two, for a BRÅVIKEN single-bowl, double-faucet sink. I'm stoked!
#10 also shows up a lot at cheap motels.
agree about cheap, off-brand faucets. this isn't really an area where you want to scrimp too much, because it's such a highly used fixture.
I found a Moen kitchen faucet that looks exactly like #4 (comes with lever style handles in the box) for $64 on Overstock. It's also on Amazon. Figure out what you want and then search the discount sites.

I love Grohe - just purchased it for our IKEA vanity - and like Mrs Teasdale I wont use Ikea faucets, we bought Grohe - german made, german engineering. Works like a BMW would.
Double handle faucets are a nightmare, who chooses them over single handle??
