A girl needs to dream big. And this one dreams of falling into some unexpected resources and getting one of these magical rotating orb fireplaces from Focus Fireplaces, so that she can be cozy from all directions...
These fireplaces, designed by French sculptor Dominique Imbert, come in a variety of styles but there is something extra special about the round, rotating Bathyscafocus. Imagine this orb in the middle of an open space, adjacent to a couch area AND a dining area and you could scooch up to it from either direction.
As you might imagine the pricetag is hefty. The prices aren't on the product website but one blog suggested a cost of close to $7000. So this will need to stay in the realm of dreams. For now.
For some more daydreaming check out the whole product line from Focus Fireplaces here.

Holy moly! That is the grooviest!
Fireorb Fireplaces are currently available and made in the US - and only run @ $5800 shipping.

It reminds me of an upside down submarine lookout thing (that thing that pokes above water) - don't know the name of it.
It's cool and definitely a conversation piece.
It's like a Pac-Man dragon
Rotating flaming orbs. That scares me.
"Now you can set things on fire in a 360 degree radius!"
Especially when something goes horribly wrong making the mechanism spin so fast that burning logs are flung across the room.
How does it turn anyway? Says ball bearing. No electricity? Can't turn it once it's on fire?
I don't like it. Seems kind of dangerous. And awkward. Kids, pets, furniture.
It would be GREAT for those designer type homes pictured. But for average homes, I'd pass.
Looks like an upside down ice cream scoop or a handheld mic to me...I guess I'm truly 'over the hill'! But I'm sure there will be a Chinese knockoff at much cheaper price sometime soon--it's inevitable.
