Yesterday Catrin brought us an interesting post about blue dining rooms. Apparently there are those who believe blue should stay far away from food because it makes it less appetizing. I, of course, don't believe with that and welcome blue with open arms in the dining room and the kitchen! It seems as though white and muted colors are the most popular options for the kitchen and often subtle blues fall into that realm. It's not rare to see sea glass back splashes or even sea foam green, but, when bright blue is used it's certainly worth talking about. Bright blue creates the drama and demands attention, especially in an otherwise all white kitchen.
If bright blue is a little too much for you; how about a dark blue? When paired with white or beige cabinets it creates a preppy, clean and put together look that'll last for years to come. Of course muted blues and sea foam tones have been top options for years and we definitely don't see them going anywhere soon.
