This beautiful bungalow is part of a 31- cottage beach community in Greenport, New York. The cottage is surrounded by the shores of the Peconic Bay. Elena Colombo fell in love with its gorgeous surroundings and the atmosphere of the community. The decor of the house is inspired by nature that surrounds it. Elena has an incredible sense of color and amazing ability to improvise and create unique pieces that complement her furnishings.
We love the gorgeous shell chandeliers, red coral pillows and tree stumps that Elena painted with 5 layers of red paint. The white brick fireplace is a focal point of the living room. It looks great with the painted floor and the custom built corner bookshelf. We also love her kitchen. It feels so cheery and inviting.

Seen this before; love it now as much as I did then
I remember this house when it was in Martha Stewart Living. very inspiring!
I love the beach. I think you can do things with beach cottages you can't do with other houses. Also like that it isn't a literal beach house with lighthouse, ocean vistas, and sea captains every where.
I live on the beach too and this is one of the most fun
beach-y homes I have seen. Absolutely love it!
Unique and personal. I agree - if you don't have any artwork that you love, and old Picasso reproduction is better than a space filler.
Brave colors!
Jessroo - it isn't the "beach cottage" that gives the freedom to be brave and play, it is the limited time that you spend there.
Where can I get those dining chairs?!
Cute!
Where can I get that couch?
The feeling throughout this place is wonderful!! The colors are fun and cheery; put together very well. Thanks for the inspiration!!
