Whenever I see a beaded curtain, I am instantly transported back to 1985: It was summer. I was at an arts n' crafts camp. And I recall spending hours stabbing my right thumb with a big plastic pink needle while stringing day-glo acrylic beads (I was, however, quite good at making chevron friendship bracelets).

In general, it feels like beaded curtains have already seen its glory days (remember this one?). But the folks at Habitat are making a valiant attempt of bringing them back: check out the photo shoot of their latest bedroom decor (pictured above). They've somehow managed to make beaded curtains look...G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S? The pairing of icy-blue bedding with rows of pearly strands makes this bedroom look like a secret nookie-nest behind a faux waterfall.
Realistically, I'm not sure how this look will translate in a boxy bedroom with standard windows. With all the beads and the powder blue, your boudoir could potentially end up looking more like a seedy Leisure Suit Larry motel room rather than a sophisticated 70's-inspired sexy pad (complete with a remote controlled wet bar and stereo system). Still want to try it anyway? Start with these; and when you're done, take a photo and send it off to the Romantic Room giveaway!
