Eight or nine years ago, before my wife and I were even married, we came across this wonderful series of wall cards at a gardening-themed gift shop in Brattleboro, VT. We both immediately knew they would be perfect for a kid's room one day. Mind you, we had no kid, no room, and no house yet, but this artwork was so perfect, we purchased the cards on the spot and tucked them away for when the time was right. Almost a decade later they finally saw the light of day, and they were worth the wait.
My daughter Olive's nursery is heavy on warm wood with its pine walls, planked ceiling, exposed beams and spruce floor. A large accent wall of calming green provides a bit of relief from all of that woody goodness. The Eeboo Counting Birds Wall Cards fit perfectly into the neutral color scheme and are a great link between her nature-themed nursery and the woods outside her window.

I especially appreciate the fact that the birds depicted are stylized but accurate representations of birds she can see all summer long, such as Phoebes, Goldfinches and Chickadees. Ten 8" x 10" cards provide countless display options and are sturdy enough to be handled regularly as a teaching tool. But once you see them, you will find it hard to resist putting them out of the reach of grubby fingers.
You can find Eeboo's Counting Birds cards easily online including at Amazon or buy them directly from Eeboo.

everything's better with a bird on it
We have these cards for my daughter's room. We've had them for 3 yrs and still don't know how to display them. How were these mounted and put on the wall?
very pretty!
these images are beautiful.
Yes! This was the first purchase I made when I found out I was pregnant... it was so early that I hesitated, but as soon as I saw them I knew that they had to be part of my nursery-to-be. My daughter is now 3.5, and still loves them! Enjoy!
The frames are very basic clear glass, purchased at a Michael's Crafts when they were having a big sale (they have sales all the time). I think all 10 frames cost less than $40, and I hung them on small finish nails, staggered up and down for a bit of visual interest.
I love these too! I bought them when pregnant, not knowing if we were having a boy or girl, but figuring they were unisex. Our son is now three and they are still up in his room and he loves having me count and say all the names of the birds. At first I just put them up as is with tacky sticky stuff, but recently framed them in black ikea ribba 5X7 frames (they fit perfectly without a mat). I also staggared them because our wall wasn't long enough to have all ten displayed side by side...
