Maine-based dog photographer Meredith Perdue's & Unlimited Dogs studio is what the British would colloquially call "the dog's bollocks", a beautifully decorated work area anchored by a stunning computer desk fashioned from a door taken from the architectural remnants of her parent's North Carolina plantation home renovation. Topped with glass and placed ontop of a couple of wooden A-frame stands, the desk compliments her Apple iMac quite nicely while providing plenty of work real estate...

We love everything from the faux fireplace to her collection of vintage cameras showcased that compliment the rest of the green, white and black colour scheme. We admit this might be the only time we think placing a flatscreen above the fireplace is okay because of the seating distance and also because the fireplace is a fake. But it's really the plantation door computer desk that stands out as a glowing example of using alternative surfaces for a desk. It's just too bad she couldn't snake the cables through the door handle hole!
After you check out the rest of Meredith's tastefully appointed studio, be sure to take a peek at her portfolio of canine subjects...we'd say the quality of the decor of her studio is indicative of her equally admirable photography work.

I love it! My desk is a recycled door on a frame legs too... but its not in as nice a room as the one here. I used the hole where the doorknob used to be to put all my cords & cables through.
That's rad. I grew up with an old door as the computer desk in our den. However, this door was basically a giant heavy flat plank of wood with no beveled features that once served as our door to the garage.
This is much better. I do wonder, however, how often that glass has to be shot with windex.
Where can I find the wooden A-frame stands? Or how do I make them?
