Handcrafted Art: Wine Chiller and Coasters

The hint of spring in the air leaves us longing for a cool, crisp glass of chardonnay. Which we'd especially enjoy when served from one of these beautiful wine chiller sets handcrafted by artist Michael Wisner for the sustainable and environmentally conscious Newton Vineyards in California.

Made with clay harvested in the very vineyards in which the wine was grown, these meticulously crafted wine chillers and their coaster counterparts are crafted in an ancient Indian pottery style.

Only 100 of these finely-crafted sets are available according to Dwell, and the sets will be sold (beginning on Earth Day 2011) only through Newton Vineyards—the same vineyards where the clay was harvested. We think they're stunning and, while the price tag is steep at $400 per set, we'd recognize them as a unique piece of art in the home.
