Apparently, 62% of Brits feel that their home urgently needs a revamp — but they are unsure where to start. Habitat hopes to facilitate the inspiration with their new This is my Habitat campaign and contest.
As part of the recently launched "This is my Habitat" campaign, UK residents are asked to upload a picture of themselves in their home with their favorite piece of Habitat furniture. In return they could win a two night stay for two in a luxury London hotel, their own photo shoot, with a top photographer and a £1,000 Habitat Gift Card.
The campaign was initially fronted by Supermodel Helena Christensen and followed by Bjorn Borg but you still get the feeling it's real homes of everyday folk!
To enter the competition (for UK residents) or to view more of the current entries go to: "This is my Habitat".
A selection of photographs will be exhibited in Habitat stores across the United Kingdom in 2010, as well as online, until the winner is announced in February.

Who jumps on their bed wearing shoes?! Gross!
good point saucymoney! lol!
I thought the same thing! That is just icky!
I've done worse. Oh, so much worse.
quiet u! lol think of all that dirty, filthy love making u've been doing in ur bed. much worse than a pair of what appear to be the cleanest shoes known to man.
i love habitat, why wont it come to the US? (i miss home)
That is just nasty. Walk outside step on poop, spit, old food, then come home and jump on your bed.
nagnagnag SPAM!
Get a grip you lot. This is a design blog, a photo is posted showing a fabulous warehouse appartment with amazing windows and your worried about shoes on the bed!
It was a PHOTO SHOOT the shoes were probably NEW!
The brickwork however is porbably original, but are the windows?
Really? With those amazing brick walls and those fabulous windows and that view of the sunlit courtyard, not to mention the beautiful people, the first thing you notice is shoes??
I can't believe that people are b*tching and complaining about SHOES on a persons own bed! They are cleaner than your butts... which at some point are exposed to your own beds.
Love the home. Great brick and love the windows and wood on the ceiling! Beautiful.
Also... does everyone have to be an American to enter this??? Would an Americans be just fine and dandy if it were an American contest which had a woman jumping on her bed with her shoes on???
(yeah, i'm an american)
Picture #1 is a dream! The warm brick, the awesome windows!! What do you call that type of window? Someone please enlighten me!
That loft is exquisit. The type of window? I think they call it "expensive".
"What do you call that type of window? "
They are powder-coated steel windows.
Here is some more info on them:

That looks like a single-pane window. I have them in my office - an entire wall of floor to ceiling windows.
They're damned inefficient and cold in winter.
p.s. Shoes on bed, sofa, furniture is simply filthy.
I think it's a fun campaign. It's much more interesting to see how real people live, even though I'm sure the rooms won't be photographed completely "as is."
Did you know that people in England still refer to the United States as "the colonies"?
i love pic #2, it would seem to fit in where i'm from because we have humid climate.
