Does anyone else out there find "dressed" beds very unsexy?
Little pillows and extra blankets on a bed are fussy and get in the way -- who wants to deal with them when in the throes of passion? Similarly, beds that are too square and tight without enough cushiness aren't sexy either...
I wish AT would delve into what constitutes a sexy bed (Matteo Home gets my vote)...
"throes of passion"
i love this term and i'm saving it for future use
Maybe one day a man might actually write an Inside Man post?
Can I suggest linen? (ok, yes, I have an agenda here!) The texture is pleasing, it looks good rumpled, has a sort of elemental feel, and is um... inherently anti-microbial.

"Maybe one day a man might actually write an Inside Man post?"
Indeed - Some of these beds I'd never be caught dead in!
Little whispy Asian flowers? Mother would love it!
Bicycle Graphic? Perfect! (for my 8y/o nephew)
Provencal patterns and tassels? Mais Non!!!
Piles of decorative pillows and ruffled sheets?
Only if "Pirate's Dryclean-Only Opium Den" is the look we're after...
Hint:
Guys want easy to care for, easy to mix, not alotta fuss, Menswear-inspired bedding:
Solids, Stripes, Plaids & Tattersalls - perhaps a paisley, a geometric or a tropical print - but only if looks like it could be a tie we'd wear to the office, or a shirt we'd wear to the beach or on a hike.
Cottons, Flannels, Linen and washable wool:
Absolutely nothing that can't be tossed into a washer and dryer or require ironing to look halfway decent.
Where's the pizza box and remote control?
And I'm with the hints from bepsf.
I really like the blue and yellow-orange combo.
Though - devil's advocate? My brother's headed off to college, and tasked my mom with getting his new bedding. The only criteria he gave her was that he wanted grey.
And I'm 100% female, but with bepsf on this one - cottons, flannels, easily washable, with a bold pattern (but not a disgusting one... like the RL one above).

I suspect if your mother came back with one of these:

"But Honey, It Is Grey!"
Got a total mancrush on you bepsf! ^_^
I thought I was the only one who thought these beddings weren't very "manly"... I'm glad I'm not.
What the bleep are "unisex beddings" doing here? For an Inside Man article I expect MANLY things! *downs a beer*
I for one (as a man) have simple cotton chocolate brown bedding, with just a couple of throwpillows made of rough vintage fabric and a large fur throw.
Especially #1, 4 and 9 made me sick... those aren't manly! Way too frilly! Those are unisex things your wife would buy cuz she thinks she knows what men like... wrong!
I'm with Indy Jeffrey and Bepsf; have a man write the Inside Man posts! We have needs too!
Sorry for the rant... guess I'm still traumatized by that horrendous man-purse from the 'Inside Man: Accessories for the Gentleman Adventurer' post

Hey bepsf, good points, but ladies want simple to care for bedding too. Okay, I might take mine with a little more paisley than you, but if it requires ironing, special washing, ect., I'm tossing it back on the shelf.

Anyone know where the woven headboard in the first photo is from?
