A bench in the bedroom is a perfect fit. They consume very little space, tucking in nicely at the foot of a bed, under a window, or in a tight corner. They're handy when getting dressed, allowing you to lay out clothing or put on socks. And last but not least, the space underneath offers a great storage opportunity.
For extra storage underneath, use decorative boxes to store office supplies for working in bed, linens, books and mags, or seasonal items. Benches 1, 4 and 5 are also eco-friendly. They are made of FSC certified wood, reclaimed wood, and pre-owned materials, respectively.

Ercol Bar Stool
Interesting. I've never considered putting a bench in my bathroom, not that i could find one to fit since mine is rather awkward and would feel crowded. i guess i just feel that bathrooms are rather purpose-oriented and i can't see myself doing anything other than standing at the sink, washing in the bath/shower or relieving myself.
lol
If I put a bench in my bedroom, I would no longer have a bench because it would just be covered in laundry. Now in the entrway, that</I> is where a bench would be useful.
Aw, HTML fail.
I'm surprised there is no mention of a storage bench with a lift top... we have one at the foot of our bed and its great for spare sets of sheets, blankets, and toys for our little one for the mornings that we need to occupy her as we shower and get ready. Kind of the modern day blanket box...
Snoman - Totally agree! We have a leather-look storage ottoman on the wall across from the foot of the bed. It was out coffee table alternative just after we got married, then we got a little tired of the trying to set glasses on the padded top and the cat scratched it up a bit (though you don't really notice it) so it got moved by the front door, then when we moved into the house it randomly got tossed in the bedroom. Now I'd decided it's the best decision ever. I store all of my purses inside lay my cell phone (plugged in) and my clothes for the next day on it every night before bed.
From the title of this, I thought this would be all about storage benches. Nonetheless, it got me thinking about replacing the chair in the bedroom with a storage bench, or at least something I can sit on and store stuff in (and drape things over, if I'm being realistic...)
i actually need one of these- to put my clothes all over. Hey, it beats the floor.
@username26 haha! You're right! I totally misread. That makes a lot more sense. In fact, I like the idea of a bench in my bedroom
@The Snoman - agree! I wouldn't put a bench in my bedroom unless it was a storage one... i don't much like the idea of boxes or whatnot just sitting under a bench. For one thing, it would ruin the look of some of those lovely benches.... they all seem more apt for a hallway or living room.
I've got a cedar lined metal trunk in my bedroom instead of a bench. I wrapped up a couple of spare blankets in a spare rag rug for a cushion on top. Looks good enough, works well enough and they didn't fit in the trunk with the other spare bedding anyway. There are a couple of spare duvets tucked into fancy pillow cases on it too. I can tuck an air bed in the trunk for an instant guest room kit - just add room.
We have cats. That means anything upholstered is covered in cat hair, in vulgar spite of regular vacuuming, brushing, and bitching. So our his & hers upholstered chairs just don't cut it for capturing cast-off clothing. Leather is the trick. Felines, at least ours, just don't seem to care for de-furred or de-feathered skin. We are saving up for a pair of Karr scissor-stools (vaguely superior way of saying x-benches -- with which I find myself pretty comfortable, actually) from Room & Board. You'll just cry about how lovely they are.

@urbancricket- Beautiful stools! So modern. Though i cant help but think they look lsightly like a luggage rack. In a good way! haha
But for my taste, if I was to spend that kind of money i would save just a little bit more and buy a pair of bent plywood eames chairs. How i pine for them.
