A "now you see it, now you don't" dressing area: Take a simple clothes rack (or two or three) and run them along a wall of the bedroom, hiding them behind a colorful curtain to create a easily accessible new closet for a storage starved home. It only takes up a narrow portion of floor area and provides tons of storage space, freeing up the traditional closet (if you have one in the room) for storing other items. A quick list of inexpensive clothes racks is below...

Go for a Z rack. They're much more expensive, but they also wont collapse under the weight of your winter coat collection. Totally worth the investment if you want the rack to last more than a year!
The ikea rigga one is horrible- i have it and it's very rickety and wobbly. I'd opt for a more professional one like the kind clothing show-rooms have that are collapsable.
I'd recommend the container store ones. I had an apartment without closets for three years and I bought a couple from them and turned an unused hallway into a closet. they held up very nicely under tons of clothes.
Go for the professional ones, worth the money and they can collapse to fit under a bed.
You can also find plastic covers for them, too. Good for out of season clothes.
