It is interesting to see what the professional interior designers create for their own homes. Every bedroom is styled so differently and none of the bedrooms seem to be the case of the "plumber with a leaky pipe in his home." All of the bedrooms are contemporary or modern, yet each designer contributed his/her own perspective on the design.

What a fun post! Based on these submissions, I'm pretty sure that most of these people would be allowed to design my bedrooms. #3 is too prison chic for me and #9 is tres blah. But # 5 and 6 totally rock.
To be honest, most AP readers have better looking bedrooms than these designers.
When you consider all the design resources at their fingertips, most of these show amazing restraint. Perhaps that is one of the keys to good design. Less really IS more.
Speaking of an AP reader, who is also a designer, and her bedroom... Check out Debra's (at Cocoon Home Design in Boston) master suite.
i like my bedroom better. found these all a little snoozy.
@grizzarkhov - yes!
I love color but the orange and turquiose bedrooms would make me an insomniac! Even in the dark!
@grizzarkhov you are right, what a beautiful bedroom!!
I love that you can tell which designers are just starting out and which are uber successful.
I sort of love the canteloupe orange, what's wrong with me? Inspiration file!
aw.... not impressed. sorry
hmmm... they seem a little too "designery" and not really lived in. they seem more suitable as hotel rooms than rooms real people actually sleep in on a daily basis.
I think the window shades in the second pic look like giant menorahs...
The only one I could see myself sleeping in is #5. Is that just one LARGE bedroom?
