In a tiny bedroom a wall mount lamp can give you ample reading light without taking up space on a bedside table (if there's room for a bedside table). The seven lamps shown here are all plug-in and most features swing-arms for ultimate usability.
- Wallace Lamp from Rejuvenation $335
- Central Park Swing Arm Sconce from Barnlight Electric Co. $467
- Bruno Collection Scissor Arm Pharmacy Wall Light from Lamps Plus $187.91
- Alameda Swing Arm Sconce from Pottery Barn $209.99
- Gus Modern Vintage Swing Arm Lamp from AllModern $575
- Emblem Series Gooseneck Wall Lamp from Arcadian Home $223
- Studio Swing Arm Wall Lamp from Circa Lighting $252

Holy snot! Aren't there any affordable ones??
I agree about the prices. Most apartment dwellers cannot afford even the least expensive on this list.
How about the new LED bedside, adjustable, wall lamp from IKEA, the PS 2012. It comes in red, black, and white for under $50. In fact, I think I found out about it on this site!!!
It's very modern and even a little edgy. I had difficulty picking out a color, though.
I would love the Rejuvenation lamp, but not in this lifetime!!
I was nodding along, thinking ooh, I like this one and I like that one, and then I saw the prices and instantly disliked them all. I think I'll stick with the Urban Outfitters sconce that is so lightweight it could be mounted to my dorm room wall with adhesive instead of a nail, and only cost like $30. At home I have a PBTeen sconce that looks more sophisticated in person than it does online. http://www.pbteen.com/products/aritculating-classic-sconce/?pkey=e%7Csconce%7C3%7Cbest%7C0%7C1%7C24%7C%7C2&cm_src=PRODUCTSEARCH||NoFacet-_-NoFacet-_-Bottom_Marketing_Rule-_- Just change out the lampshade and you have an attractive lamp.
Metallic bronze spray paint from Krylon does a remarkable job of replicating the finish on these lamps, is surprisingly hardy, and adheres to just about anything. I've even seen it used to spray paint existing bathroom fixtures (even shower trim and faucet) for a cash-strapped DIY upgrade in a bathroom. These lamps are lovely, but considering that you'd probably need two, one for each side of the bed, KA-ching. Find something similar at IKEA or Target and paint it.
Also, these are nice and you can get 2 of them for the price of one of the others.

price point on this post lost my interest in a flash.
I picked up a west elm long arm sconce from ebay. Couldn't be happier. For the pricepoint and quality
Although it is pretty long at 44inches, yet love it.

A good sub for #2
Under $300 for two from Pottery Barn and comes in a Brass finish

I got two 1980s tacky brass sconces from eBay for $15 + shipping. Add in some spray paint and for under $30 I now have two awesome-looking sconces very similar to #7. There's no reason to pay these horribly outrageous prices for bedside lamps, for goodness sake.
Agree with everyone on the prices here. Completely unrealistic for the majority of us. This is why I stick to thrift stores and yard sales for lamps.
Same here. $10 from the thrift store + a can of spray paint.
The only *apartment therapy* in this post is from the common
sense responses. I'm particularly fond of the first one.

Hey, I'm new on here and was just wondering if anyone knows where I can get hardware like rods and articulating elbows to DIY these types of lamps. Any suggestions would help as I've been busy looking around my city and am having no luck. Thanks
I have a few similar lamps available on ETSY for less. http://www.etsy.com/shop/LongMadeCo
I swear I bought one just like the green one for less than $20 at Home Depot when I was in college.
The comments are making this post interesting. Completely phased out of the article when I saw the prices. An apartment therapy fail
Try "Dark Sky" lighting outdoor wall lamps at Lowes - $15 and as an indoor wall sconce they give an awesome industrial look for a low cot. http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay?partNumber=337487-76219-HRK1691ASS&langId=-1&storeId=10151&productId=3822567&catalogId=10051&cmRelshp=req&rel=nofollow&cId=PDIO1
