Fitting a full bathroom into a tiny space is something that those of us who have chosen to live with a small footprint have to eternally deal with. This bathroom makeover in San Francisco takes a space from cramped to light and airy. Lovely finishes and clever storage placement makes this a great makeover. Check it out after the jump.
This remodel serves as a lesson in how important it is to capitalize on natural light in tiny spaces. The wall of tile bounces light around and off of the white surfaces while the wood cabinet above the toilet creates a focal point to rest your eye upon.
Storage is carefully and thoughtfully placed to allow the space to feel open and uncluttered.
According to the builder, Niche Interiors:
A cramped floor plan and outdated finishes prompted the remodel of this small master bathroom. Relocating the toilet to the rear wall and adding a wall-mounted sink maximizes the space. The feature wall of glass mosaic tile adds movement and draws attention to the high ceilings and skylight.

Ercol Bar Stool
where did all that floor space come from!
Wow! Shows you what compact fixtures can do!
It looks much better, and I'm sure is more comfortable to use. This may be the only remodel I've seen where it was probably worth the money to move the toilet.
Appearance-wise, this is a vast improvement from the original room, but where is the storage and counter space? Adding a wall mounted sink may provide more floor, but it is a teeny tiny sink with no counter to set anything upon. As a master bath, it is not practical for two people. Methinks this is better suited as a guest bath. Do like the color of the mosaic tile.
It looks to me like the medicine cabinet is set up so that you can still use the mirror while its open allowing for you to set your items on the ledges there. I also think the ledge immediately surrounding the sink is probably big enough to set small items for immediate use on. Having less counter space to put things eliminates the clutter. I love this bathroom redo. Its very calming.
How much stuff do people really need to keep in the bathroom? I think there is enough space for what is really necessary.
I think this is gorgeous. It is such an improvement! I think all the pieces are perfect for that room. I only have 1 bathroom with 3 kids and a husband so we have a decent amount of stuff in the bathroom but we also have a generous closet in our bathroom. If my hubby and I were lucky enough to have a master bath I'm sure we would be able to have it look like this and still have all of our essential items in there. I'm jealous of the window! My bath is in the center of my home, so no windows. :( Excellent job, homeowners!
Very nice! I think everything gives a more airy, larger feel to the room.
Could I live with it, yes. Could my wife with female stuff ie makeup, hair dryer, etc etc no wayy, plus the way that faucet is mounted i would have to be left handed not to mention it is a teeny tiny basin. not practical and really shouldn't a bathroom where our "most important business" be practical at least...
