Without ripping anything out, the folks over at In My Own Style transformed their purple bathroom into something much more classic looking. With projects that included changing the inset color on the floor to disguising the fiberglass bathtub, this bathroom underwent a dramatic makeover, all while keeping the major surfaces in the room intact.

Spending only about $300 on the entire space, Diane from In My Own Style really created a custom look in a builder basic space.
Her projects, most of which have tutorials, were:
- Refacing the front of the bathtub
- Adding molding to the mirror
- Installing board and batten
- Creating a valance
- Transforming a vinyl floor

White Enamel Flatwa...
Looks great! Love seeing redos and before and afters that still make the best use of what's existing.
sooo much better... that purple really needed to go
Love the board and batten. Not sure I dig the valance. Big improvement over the hideous purple!
@serendipitwaddle look again at the "before"--there's the window in the corner of the photo, and a very, very clear view of it in the mirror!
Thanks Allison for the feature. xo
The pictures show everything really well I think! I am impressed, the new bathroom looks MUCH better!
WOW, this is a really great change. I can't believe it wasn't expensive! And though I too mind when the before/after perspectives are different, this one actually IS the same perspective! Nice! (You can just see a little more on either side, serendipitwaddle; it's the same view.)
Um why are the towels right next to the toilet? Flushing the toilet sprays tons of germs (even with a closed lid).
Other than that, great job on the make over!
Wow!
I love this although I miss the lavendar (I'm a purple freak, can't help it). Love the wainscotting, towel hangers and polka dot shade. Well done!
The board and batten looks lovely.
