Before
This bathroom makeover from Country Living immediately caught our eye for its inventive use of materials (corrugated metal) and completely transformative results...

After
Shelterrific steered us to this fabulous renovation, which we love for its chic look created using inexpensive materials available at your local hardware store. You've got to check out the article at Country Living to see the inside of the shower (remember that corrugated metal we mentioned?), where you'll also find a price breakdown and sources for all materials used. I'm not much for country, but this IS impressive
I'm floored. This is, without a doubt, the best DIY bathroom make-over I've seen on this site. I can't even believe that I love that corrugated metal so much.
Outstanding transformation, especially on that kind of budget!
usually a fan of anything shiny. Love the white /silver color story... but I can't even believe how much I hate that corrugated metal. imagining showering there makes me think of what I envision in prison bathrooms... or outhouses... or chicken coops.
Love the chandelier though!
This is pretty darn great. What I like best is that if you change the shower curtain and light fixture it can be any style you want.
I'm not sure why the bathroom has such a small sink to begin with. There was obviously enough space for a normal size one.
Either way, its a nice transformation.
When I saw this article in my mother's copy of Country Living last weekend, I immediately ran to Lowe's and bought that adorable toilet handle. Now I just have to ask my superintendent to install it since my boyfriend and I are hopeless at even the most minor home repairs...
freakin' gorgeous!
really love chandeliers in the bathroom!
I bet it must get cleaned a lot!
The "after" is amazing! Never would have thought of using that corrugated metal sheeting!
Although the chandelier is pretty, I'm imaging how dust immediately glues itself to every surface of our bathroom after a steamy shower...cleaning nightmare!! Otherwise I love it and so glad they kept that beautiful tub.
I am impressed. I like the curtain too bad it is from that evil retailer.
oh how I do like an all white bathroom, very nice!
Love the galvanized steel tub surround - what a great use of this material in an unusual and functional way!
wow, love it
I love the shower curtain - looks like a can can girl!
Whether it's your taste or not, very well done.

Chandeliers in the bathroom are easy to keep clean. I just run a duster over mine twice a week. It only takes a few seconds.
One of the best improvements was free-out with that hideous window treatment!
I love the steel. It recalls those big old tin or copper bath tubs.
It's a nice contrast to the ruffles and chandelier, too.
The sink and fixture are perfect.
Love the apothecary jar of soaps, the old metal waste can.
OUTSTANDING JOB.
O_o
So. Impressive.
This is such a wonderful and creative makeover! It's fantastic!
whoa, breathtaking! and so brave for being all-white.
Very clever and chic. The corrugated metal surround contrasts wonderfully with the crystal chandelier and petticoat shower curtain. And the only thing better than a bargain is a whole room full of them. Thumbs up!
Saw this Thursday on a trip to Home Depot when I got snagged into the magnetic pit of home design magazines. I was flabbergasted and fell madly in love with it before I realized it was a DIY makeover (I read magazines back to front). I totally loved the frosted glass door insert to let in more light to the bathroom... hubby wasn't down with that idea though. I guess privacy trumps design in our case.
love it! fantastic!
Elegantly funky!
Considering what he had to work with, great job!
LOVE the shower curtain. This room turned out so serene and lived-in-elegance. This is my favorite style.
