AFTER: Inspiration Board made from leftover fabric

We've featured Jennifer Levy's smart solutions before — she repurposed a Marais stool as a sink pedestal. Jennifer has sent us pictures of her office makeover which she completed using a combination of IKEA and leftover materials from previous renovation projects.

From Jennifer:

• 1 My inspiration board made from leftover fabric, with a vintage typing table.

• 3 Adding more shelving — IKEA's Ekby — and re-using an old stainless rolling cart increased storage and took advantage of the high ceilings. The Eames swivel chair was inherited from my grandmother, and softened with an IKEA Ludde sheepskin.

• 5 The desk was made by finishing two leftover doors with water-based ‘pickling’ paint.The IKEA Kvartal curtain system was used under the desk to hide file cabinets and supplies. Ductwork, leftover from the renovation was repurposed to hold design drawing. The magnetic board is a found frame with a piece of sheet-metal custom-cut by a local sheet-metal fabricator. A robins egg blue sets off the grommet curtains made from IKEA linen print fabric (originally bought for my 'collection')

• 7 The Murphy bed was concealed with curtains I added a bottom border to with leftover linen. The bonus surprise was that when the bed is down with the curtains pulled over with the tie-backs it frames the bed and creates a cozy nook.
