Over the course of the last year, I've come across over 100 of these old wooden ladders at auctions, estate sales or garage sales. They also make frequent appearances at our local Re-Store and although there's lots of ways to put a ladder to use, this is a great way to turn one into a handy piece of furniture.
Expensive ladder shelves from major retailers might seem out of reach when it comes to price point, but there's still hope, especially if you have a saw and a few nails. Since the shelves extend to the back of the wall, they help support the weight of the items on the shelving.
It's a simple build that can dress up your home in a flash and for cheaper than you can find shelves at second hand stores. Check out the full step by step tutorial over at Censational Girl.
