Call me crazy - but I liked the old sofa and larger rug better...

...and I'd prefer window treatments that allowed me the option to look out the windows - perhaps roller blinds or burnout sheers would have given a similar effect while allowing this?

bepsf: Those window panels are definitely sheer enough to allow a good view out the window if you're sitting on the couch, and they're on tracks so they can slide open. It looks like that photo was taken at night; in the daylight the effect is just like burnout sheers. (I have the same panels.)

I respectfully disagree.

Those tracks have only two channels - so two of the panels are on the same track, meaning that only 1/3 of the large forward window can be exposed maximum: still 2/3 covered.
...and unless you lift the shades or the shades were converted to rollers, the side windows can't be exposed at all.

(and are my eyes decieving me, or did this person panel over the Panorama corner windows too???)

I would imagine that part of the curtain choice had to do with letting light in....while blocking people looking in when parked in a less than private RV site. The reason for customizing them is to make them feel more like your home and less like a factory creation.

I plan to retire in one someday so I can travel and visit friends/family from coast to coast. I would probably look for a similar curtain solution as this RV owner did.

Kudos on purchasing your very own Airstream! I have long coveted my own Bambi or Bubble and enjoy seeing what others have done to deck out their "house on wheels".

Your window treatments are charming and utilitarian and fit with your total feminine decor. I think they rock! Read past the commentary that suggests they aren't befitting. You purchased and decorated an Airstream! That's a great accomplishment. Certainly a more significant achievement than making 20 posts a day on AT.

Actually I have that system, from IKEA, with three tracks, not two. If they used the three track it would open fine.

love the couch and the window treatment. the rug is cute and now its time to conquer the kitchen. if i were you i'd paint all the wood panel stuff in high gloss white, or super light,almost white-gray. Then I'd tackle the diy job of the painting those countertops white.

WOW heaps of wonderful comments and excellent feedback. To answer your questions:

1. The photos were taken at night, hence the darkness in the windows. During the day, tons of wonderful light shines through them. I live on my boyfriend's (lovely forested) property and do not need major window privacy.

2. Not being a fan of curtains, I was looking for an inexpensive window covering. Ikea was nicely priced (& fun!) and, I have the option to play around with them on a whim, without spending too much. I (personally) leave these 'blinds' closed, but you can slide them on the double tracking (if you desired). However, the dazzling array of pretty patterns on the walls, desk, sofa etc -- that are created from these particular blinds is very pretty!

3. I did add a super shiny varnish to the wood and painted some walls white to balance out the heavy dense wood feel.

4. The window coverings do not cover the panorama window views.

5. Giving a big shout-out to Kristiana Spaulding, who inspired my custom-built desk. And great BIG thank you to Apartment Therapy, where I found Kristiana's incredible Airstream re-vamp other Airstream ideas in the first place.

6. I am taking a break from all the interior re-dos. She was so much work you have no idea! And now my focus is on getting her to a mirror-shine on the exterior.
