Some Before & Afters make me wonder if I'll ever need to buy anything new again. Take this hutch, for example. I may have walked past this hutch in a secondhand store without seeing its potential. Once I saw the after image, however, I am convinced that any old furniture can be transformed.
Amanda, over at The Ivy Cottage Blog, put in the work to transform this old hutch into the beauty you see here. After finding the piece for a low price on Craigslist, Amanda set about transforming it. First, she sanded and primed the hutch. Once sanded, Amanda painted the bottom part of the piece Martha Stewart brand Blue Suede paint, followed by a little dry brushing with Martha Stewart's Hydrangea. Then, and this is where I think Amanda truly set the whole piece apart, she painted the top hutch part in Behr brand Cotton Whisper paint. I absolutely love the two tone look of the piece!
