These simple white faux-leather bar stools were a bargain but Amy wanted to dress them up a bit. Although she was initially reluctant to jump into this project, mainly because she couldn't find any evidence that anyone else had done something similar, the results are fabulous!

Now, if you're a regular reader you know that I will try to stencil anything that doesn't move. Don't believe me? Have you seen this entryway? Or this living room wall? How about these curtains? Ok I digress. But the point is I love a good stencil project — so naturally this project is right up my alley!

Using a stencil and paint intended for use on leather, Amy created a beautiful two-color pattern on her white bar stools. The basic shape of the stools, and the fact that they were disassembled, made the stenciling a fairly quick and easy project. And the patterned bar stools make a wonderful statement in Amy's otherwise white kitchen.

Nice!
Love it! Great job!
so great!
Usually these Before&After posts make me wince that someone wasted so much time getting nowhere... but this time, Whoa! Amy really did transform those barstools into something so much more refined, so very much better! The original manufacturer should send her a handsome check for her inspired example.
They look so lovely in your kitchen! Great work.

Perfect! That made the whole kitchen (a kitchen that was already beautiful).
Amy! What a great idea, and they look beautiful. Just the right touch of class and color.
I absolutely love what you did !
And, on a personal note, thank you for comforting me in my decision to spruce up my own kitchen chairs. It looks fabulous.

Looks great!
Looks great! Really makes them stand out from the white kitchen.
GORGEOUS!
cute. hope it doesn't come off on people's clothes.
What a great improvement! Genius!
I'm the only one who disagrees... I like the idea, but maybe the fact that the pattern doesn't match up or "flow" on the side makes me cringe. My point is, if someone is going to take the time to do all that work, shouldn't the pattern match up? Perhaps the same pattern, but in a smaller scale would've been a better impact. Wouldn't it be nice to get a full set of 3 on the back? It's like a math problem.
I love it! love the kitchen! yes yes!
