When it came to envisioning a new look for a set of dining chairs, Sarah kept the essence of these beautiful pieces and just hiked it up a notch in an interesting way.

Instead of painting these beautiful chairs, like we often see done, she emphasized the design and era of them by adding a simple upholstery with the perfect fabrics. The mix/match sets that she chose elevated this set into something quite eye-catching.

one of my fav before afters!
Sometimes, actually being retro just isn't retro enough, huh?
LOVE
These are great. I just wish I could figure out how the upholstery works - is it on the back of the chairs as well?
Great job!

Oh mY wOrD! Those are FABulous!!
Perfection!
Mid-century on viagra!
I was expecting an atrocious white paint job when I clicked this. The chairs look great; I like fabric. And it looks like the wood has been cleaned/stained... looking good!
Sorry, but no. Take the seat cushions off. Done.
Fantastic!
Never mind about the fabric look at those COOL metal things she put on the feet!!!!!!! Midcentury furniture tends to be a little low so that's a fantastic idea! Does anyone know what they are and where to get them?
You did such a good job! You should be proud of yourself! :-D
Great job- love that you kept the upholstery in tune with the era of the furniture.
Ploefff - Looks like the metal things were already on the legs. You can just make them out in the Before photo.
It's hard to tell from the before pics, but I think the back rests were originally upholstered as well. I wouldn't think she'd decoupage the backs.
And the metal feet are on the front legs only, so hard to see in the before, and not added, just shined up.
I think these chairs look magnificent.
It looks like she glued the fabric to the inside backs and then put some kind of ribbon or tape around the edge to cover the raw fabric edge. You can see a gray edging.
Nice fabric choices!
wow this may be the best before/after set I've seen here. great design and execution!
Excellent! I usually dread these before/afters, but this one is perfect.
Gorgeous chairs! Gorgeous fabrics!
