Stuck with ugly, outdated appliances? The good news is that you're not stuck. We've already showed you how you can makeover your hideous and old retro-chic appliances with cabinet fronts or specialty appliance paint, but there's another option (And it just might be our favorite!). Click through to see the awesome "After."

They're Stainless Steel!
Well, not really. But they look like it, don't they? These homeowners covered their outdated black refrigerator and dishwasher with Faux Stainless Steel Contact Paper. And the whole project costs around $60!
If you want to replicate the look, it's easy to do. Just grab a roll of Stainless Steel Film (You can also search for it on the web as "Laminate" or "Contact Paper"), cut it to size, clean your appliance and stick it down (use a piece of cardboard to keep out air bubbles. (Need more thorough instructions? Look here.)
You can use this technique on everything from your microwave to your oven—just check out this gallery of before & after pictures.
If any of you tackle this project, be sure to send us the results!

That looks great! I'd love to hear about how it holds up.
Now do something about those cabinets and that floor.
They also turned on the lights...that helps too!
@MamaScang
Yes! They aren't fooling me, now it's ugly with the lights on too!
Faux SS is a great idea. But
Its annoying when people use the "messy and dark" before and "bright and clean" after in their Before and Afters. Let the changes speak for themself.
Wow, elitist much?
You know, this kitchen is far nicer than mine. Not all of us can afford spaceship kitchens. The poor aren't explicitly stupid or tasteless, we just can't always afford new stuff and great design.
How come those "before" appliances don't look old or outdated?
How would this work if all my appliances are Boring Beige? I'd have to wrap the handles too.
I think Before is pretty nice.
